IN RUBRIC "EXPERIMENT" Wonderzine editors recreate extreme life situations that girls end up in, and tests various cosmetics (and not only). Along with other attractive features, matte lipstick is attributed to excellent durability - we decided to check it out this time.

We reasoned most often lipstick prints appear on glasses and cups: a rare girl does not drink four or five, or even eight different drinks per day. If the lips are painted all day long with bright lipstick, it is quite natural to worry after each tea-party: the contour is gradually smeared, and the lipstick itself leaves its color on the cup - the lips after this look are not at all cool. We decided to find out which of the five lipsticks you can not fear for the appearance (or fear a little less than before), and for this we calculated the number of prints each lipstick leaves on the cup. The logic is simple: the less bright the imprint and the less they are obtained, the higher the resistance. By the way, the lipsticks themselves were applied directly to the lips, without a primer and even a pencil along the contour - all for the purity of the experiment.

This liquid, albeit liquid, but still matte was heavily imprinted on the first and second cups, and then almost all the color was lost, but in the end, it “ate” evenly - well.

MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme Positively Dashing
Before the start of the experiment, we, as it should, waited until Pro Longwear was absorbed on the lips - the consultants recommend doing so in order to prolong the durability. And the truth is that the last one is good at lipstick: even on the first cup it was not imprinted lightly (despite the fact that the shade is rather dark).

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet La Fascinante
Rouge Allure Velvet gave the color the longest, but even after the eighth cup it looked bearable: all the glossiness went away (despite the fact that the lipstick was matte, there was still a slight shine), but the color from rich red became uniform, soft berry.

Bobbi Brown Matte Lip Color Calypso
I shared the second place with Pro Longwear: it was printed less than MAC, but it didn’t look any better (but no worse).

Givenchy le rouge carmin escarpin
The unexpected leader of the five, the most matte-looking lipstick turned out to be the most resistant - it was printed less than the rest. There were no traces on the fifth cup, but not because all the lipstick had disappeared from the lips — it looked almost the same as it had before.

Much depends on the individual details: they still drink and apply lipstick (contour boundaries, number of layers) in different ways. But with matte lipsticks, you can drink a couple of cups more or less relaxed: the color, even if faded, will remain in place, and the contour will blur in tolerable boundaries.
