CONTINUE TO TELLabout decent accounts in social networks through which you can view the whole world.

In the spring of 2014, artist Amalia Ulman posted the phrase "Part I" in her instagram @amaliaulman, with which her project "Excellences & Perfections" began. For several months, the artist placed in her account photos in which she appears as a girl trying to succeed in Los Angeles. The fact that this is an art project, the artist told only after its completion: many believed that the photos reflect the real life of Ulman, and gallery owners advised her to stop uploading such pictures to be taken seriously.

The project is divided into three conventional parts: in the first, the artist depicts a provincial girl who moves to Los Angeles, breaks up with her boyfriend and is forced to work in an escort to make ends meet. In the second part, the heroine experiences a nervous breakdown, performs a breast augmentation operation, begins to use drugs and goes to a rehabilitation clinic. The end of the project was the heroine’s path to “recovery”: “I liked yoga and juice. The end,” Ulman sums up.

The aim of the project was to show how beautiful images are used against women and how social networks affect our attitude to the female body. Ulman thought over the idea of Excellences & Perfection in 2013 when she was in the hospital after she had an accident: “I spent a month researching for the project. He had a tie, climax and isolation. I dyed my hair. I changed my wardrobe. I played: it was not me. " In winter, two exhibitions opened in London at once, in which several photographs from the project Excellences & Perfection are presented.

Amalia Ulman herself was born in Rio de Janeiro, then she lived in Gijon, a port city in northern Spain. Ulman studied at Central Saint Martins: the school she chose, just drove into the search engine "London School of Art." In Amalia's instagram, you can look not only at the "Excellences & Perfection" series, but also at her new works - for example, at the photos for the #GucciGram project.
