Front view: People at the opening of the summer program of the Institute Strelka
In the invitations to the party on the occasion of the opening of the summer program of the Strelka Institute, it was clearly stated: "Matthew Herbert and the orchestra are playing. The uniform is ceremonial." A few days before the party, it became obvious that there were not so many events left in the city that everyone wants to dress in a special way. Having met a dozen colleagues puzzling over what to go, Look At Me went to the Strelka bar to find out who and how solved this problem and how much time it took to get ready. The visitors who were drowned in the loops of dresses and strangled with butterflies modestly made a joke that they gathered in five to fifteen minutes. Believe it or not - decide for yourself.
Christina Rubiner, artist
"Some things are idle in the closet for a long time. It's great that there are activities for which you can somehow dress up. It took me ten minutes to prepare today."
Nikita Manin, photographer
“I had been preparing for a very long time and did not know what to wear. I wear my skirt at home and didn’t dare to go out into the world for a long time. Men of other nationalities - Koreans, Arabs - often wear skirts. And I understand them: it’s very conveniently".
Masha Frolova, KixBox and Fred Perry; Olya Retro, art historian
Masha: "The parade look is generally a very subjective thing. I came here today in shoes, and now I changed into sneakers. For me it’s so smart."
Olya: "We have a room in which there is only a wardrobe and a bed. When we want to get dressed, we go there, but we can’t get out. Today I called Masha from there and asked:" Do you want to go in this dress or will I wear it today? ""
Olya Strakhovskaya, editor of Look At Me, film critic
“It took me an hour to get ready for tonight in a traffic jam, in which I stood while I was going to the store to get my dress, and another half hour to fix my hair and change my shoes. In general, everything happened in a hurry.”
Lena, student
"I turned off the hot water, so I probably washed for an hour with a bucket and a basin. I did not understand what to wear for a long time - some said it was a ball, others - that you just need to dress beautifully. As a result, I found this suit in the closet and went in it. "
Marina Nikolaevna, brand manager JNBY
"I spent half a day today to buy a new dress for myself, but I stopped at the old one. It took me ten minutes to figure out what to wear and actually dress up."
DJs Noncollective
"We didn’t think about what to wear, we flew in this morning from London. If you want to see really stylish guys, come here tomorrow - we will arrange a real disco church in the bar."
Sasha Goldman, photographer
"I figured out what to wear yesterday. I’m wearing two dresses: Alexander Wang silk and Winter Kate kimono. But the main component of the outfit is a rug, I got it from a friend, because I like a fool came without a coat."
Kostya Pohvalin, musician; Sveta Pavlova, designer; Sasha Lestyukhin, DJ
Sasha: "We knew that the uniform would be ceremonial, but weren't dressed at all in parade fashion."
Sveta: "We were going for about thirty minutes, I didn’t even stroke my skirt - I hope it is unnoticeable."
Katya Yarmahov, editor of Vogue.ru
“I was ready for the party for almost a week and imagined how I would be winding up the Strelka in this dress in the yard. The weather interfered in the plans, as usual. I had to hide the beautiful top all evening under a trench coat and the silk hem turned into something like one of Mark Fast's dresses (in other words, in flaws). I spent the whole evening trying to use the whole cut and play Angelina Jolie at the last Oscar, but damn it, it was cold. I had to postpone the performance until better times. "
Nastya Mikhailova, Strelka Bar employee
"Honestly, I just wanted to go to Nina Donis, so I went to Nina Donis. I didn’t spend any time at all."
Lenya Lipelis, DJ
"I gathered in five minutes. I don’t have so many clothes — four shirts, two jackets, five butterflies."
