REVERZ: Bulky things come from Omsk

IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. Our heroine this week is young Russian designer Dasha Revers, who launched a clothing brand in Omsk a year ago without any third-party investments.

Dasha graduated from the Omsk State Institute of Service in 2014, where she studied for 6 years at the department of costume design. She began to sew things on her own while she was still studying, starting with accessories under the brand name "Dasha Pryanikova". At first, the girl abandoned butterflies, headbands, laconic clutches, backpacks, which went by the hundreds and thousands on city markets like the Moscow “Lambada”, where the young designer went for five years, living in two cities. So the girl managed even during the training to accumulate a small capital to focus on creating clothes of complex cut. The graduation collection of Dasha was highly appreciated by the teachers, and after graduating from the university, the 23-year-old designer moved to Moscow, where she continues to sew clothes under the REVERZ brand.

In the REVERZ collections things of exaggerated volumes: massive warm coats, tailored from different materials, quilted bomber jackets, pajama-cut shirts, transparent pants and jackets, laconic dresses and tops, 90-piece elastic pants. The basis for the designer takes a classic silhouette, adding to it the sports processing of parts. Dasha uses prints, mesh and sequins. Special attention is given to accessories: socks with sequins, panama mesh with talking inscriptions ("Want", "Now", "Celebrate", etc.) and backpacks bags of colored fur and mesh. On the one hand, REVERZ creates basic wardrobe items like jackets, short-sleeved shirts and coats. On the other - all things can be called the statement piece, that is, each can become the main in the wardrobe. The designer prefers to work with different complex materials, mixing several at once in one thing: insulation, mesh, organza, wool — it is important for her that the fabrics keep their shape and be durable.

Dasha understands that a successful brand is possible only if there is a strong commercial component. So, in addition to sophisticated clothes, the girl sews mini-dresses of an A-silhouette with a simple cut of fabrics with various cheerful prints. She buys the fabric in small footage - each one makes up no more than two things; behind such Instagram, a queue of buyers is formed in advance. Dasha herself leads pages in social networks, responds to mail, sells, draws sketches, tailors and sews, working together with one seamstress.

My institute taught me a lot. In Omsk, a really powerful design school, one of the strongest in the country. They have very strict requirements for design, and no one is too formal with you: they criticize a lot and force them to remake a thing 10 times if its proportions are not perfect. We have strict teachers of the department, who, being at a respected age, come to the lecture in pajamas with sheep, Prada shoes and follow the updates on Style.com, which is very important, because they, despite their experience and knowledge, keep track of new trends in fashion. During my studies, I interned with Alexander Terekhov and Dasha Gauzer - it was a great experience. Today I am inspired by what Stella McCartney and Alexander Wang are doing: wearable designer clothes that look cool in complex styling or separately in combination with simple things. In the future collection I want to use fur. I am interested in working on a coat and other complicated outerwear.
