Birdie co-owner Ksenia Tumanova about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week, our heroine is the co-owner of the Birdie hairdressing network, Ksenia Tumanova.

For me, clothes are first of all uniforms, like, for example, with a flight attendant. It should look neat, be comfortable in case you need to assemble an Ikea nightstand or climb a stepladder, and at the same time smart - so that you can go to the bar or dance after work. Flight attendants, however, the latter can not be done in the form.

All my childhood, I was wearing clothes for neighbors' children, which completely discouraged the desire to buy things in second-hand. The approach popular today to limit the number of things seems utopian to me too: I remember situations where you cannot go for a walk because everything is washed and dried. The student years coincided with the arrival of mass market giants to the Russian market - I spent all my free time in stores, leaving most of my salary there.

Keeping yourself in check was helped by online shopping, which makes you spend a little more time studying the silhouette and quality of things, and also gives you a chance to think before you decide to buy. It got to the point that the traditional way to buy things seems strange to me: how can you just come to the store and choose one or two from hundreds of models without knowing it in advance online and not looking at what it is worn at?

Paillettes, feathers, vinyl and lurex are very beautiful, but I am a gray cashmere sweater and a black silk shirt, they can also look elegant. Most of all, my style was influenced by acquaintance with Saint Laurent under the patronage of Edie Sliman, which coincided with frequent trips to work. So, in my wardrobe, the number of low-quality things has been greatly reduced, which are hardly combined with anything and which are difficult to rely on in the long term. Recently, I buy one or two things a month. By and large everything that I wear, you can find a cheap analogue in the mass market. However, if there is an opportunity to buy clothes that will last not a couple of months, but a couple of years, I see no reason to refuse it.

Jacket, dress and boots - Saint Laurent, Prada Backpack

When I wear clothes with pockets, my inner Wasserman rejoices — glad to do without a bag. Largely due to the pockets, this is my favorite outfit for traveling - from a music festival to a business trip. Wearing a jacket with black skinny jeans, you can easily go to rob a bank - no one will ever recognize you - so I prefer to wear it with dresses and trousers with arrows.

Army boots wear all year round, they are not afraid of rain or Moscow salt. Over the purchase of a backpack pondered several months. This is a classic model, and there are no discounts on the sale; Considering that it is not even leather, the price did not just bite, but ate alive. However, I never regretted the purchase. Now this is not only my bag for every day, where the laptop and sports uniform fit, but also the suitcase with which I go on all trips.

Isabel Marant Jumpsuit, Boots and Bandana - Saint Laurent

For a mysterious reason, many people associate the Isabel Marant brand with wedge sneakers, and the entire size range of clothes hangs peacefully in Moscow stores until the final discounts. In the career guidance lessons in the ninth grade, I argued that when I grow up, I will become a cowboy. Does this outfit indicate that I am a purposeful person?

Prada Sweater, Skirt, Boots and Backpack - Saint Laurent

At twenty-five, I wore elongated tops disguised as short dresses; time passes, and I still want to undress. She bought a sweater at the end of May and enjoyed wearing it in June and July. I like the way he balances an aggressive leather skirt, which, admittedly, is far more insolent than me. I used to walk everywhere on foot, which is why my highest heels look that way.

Junya Watanabe x Comme des Garçons Dress, Beret and Boots - Saint Laurent

As planned by the designer, this is a romantic flowered dress, worn on a cotton T-shirt, which is visible through a deep slit on the back. Choosing him, every time I hear an intimate whisper in my ear: "Girl, your dress is unbuttoned." I don’t like interest in clothes, so I didn’t meet Japanese deconstruction before this thing - but this time I was bribed by a beautiful print and silhouette. Strange, but many do not even notice the obviously asymmetrical sleeves. I put it on at business conferences and important meetings when you need to look neutral good.

Erdem dress, Saint Laurent boots

This dress is the best companion for going to the bar: it remains elegant without accessories and it is difficult to go unnoticed when trying to place an order.

Helmut Lang skirt, shirt and boots - Saint Laurent

Sneakers and sweatshirts are, of course, very comfortable, but, in my opinion, Moscow’s urban fashion lacks intelligent sexuality. And silk and suede warm no less than jeans with a sweater.

Saint Laurent Trench Coat

When asked what I see myself in five years, I point to the well-groomed American grandmothers who walk along Fifth Avenue past Central Park in perfect cashmere coats.

Top Saint Laurent, Acne Studios jeans, Loewe moccasins, Chrome Hearts glasses

So I look at weekends, going for a long walk with a dog. You can put everything you need in your pockets, and on the top and jeans you can barely see wool, dog foot prints and accidentally spilled coffee. Moccasins with a crooked heel teach me humility, because they have to move three times slower.

T-shirt by Thee Oh Sees, jeans and boots - Saint Laurent

At school, I did not listen to a single group whose t-shirt it would have been decent to wear now. Thanks to Edie Sliman for promoting garage rock in the era of rap, which is not very close to me. California's Thee Oh Sees track became the soundtrack for the 2013 Saint Laurent Autumn-Winter Collection show - after which I took time off to go to the band’s concert. They also have two drummers - I love drummers.

Balenciaga shirt, pants and beret - Saint Laurent, Gucci Loafers

I really like straight cut shirts; I used to buy them in the men's departments, because the women were only with stupid tucks on the back. The time of reckoning has come: this one, especially female, has already been asked to be denounced by four men.

Once I wore these perfect classic woolen trousers with arrows for a month without taking off, but they never turned into sweatpants with stretched knees. I dream once to buy a suitable jacket for them.

Beret, bandana and scarf - Saint Laurent

Almost all accessories are gifts for her husband's anniversary or just like that. When I put on my beret, my acquaintances begin to talk to me in French. This is especially ridiculous, since in childhood such a headdress was associated with everyone going to the market, and buying it was no different from acquiring an angori hood or woolen tights. The black silk scarf is my hidden weapon against bad weather: it fits easily in a bag, and warms just as well as wool.

Chrome Hearts Glasses

I have a very narrow face, and up to twenty-five years, in principle, there were no sunglasses - everyone was great. Therefore, ordinary fear of accidentally sitting on your favorite couple for me is a real nightmare.

Tiffani & Co. Ring, Rolex Vintage Watch

My favorite fashion trend happened a couple of seasons ago, when everyone refused to decorate. I do not like them, they bother me, so the idea of marriage most frightened just the need to wear a ring.

When I tell someone that I have a Tiffany engagement ring, the other person begins to dreamily roll his eyes. In fact, when the future husband and I came to the store on Fifth Avenue, the consultant began to drive us across all the floors, not fully understanding what it means to “we, please, ring without everything”.

Watch took five years ago from her husband. Besides the fact that I am accustomed to finding out the time in the traditional way, I like that they remove the question of the admissibility of mixing different colors of accessories in the image.

Perfume Frederic Malle Dries Van Noten, Frederic Malle French Lover, Frederic Malle Magnolia

The first I got was a fragrance designed for Dries Van Noten: I associate it with a trip to Paris on a honeymoon and flawless resin with a boutique consultant Dries Van Noten. Then I tried the French Lover, for which I returned to the next trip - this is one of the few perfumes in my whole life that has been used to the very end and I still like it.

Magnolia perfume - from a large set with such 15 milliliter testers that my husband gave me on March 8 - however, at that moment I had a sore throat and basically did not distinguish one smell from another.
