Familiar faces: Favorite make-up from clips of the 90s
The video clips of the heyday of MTV are an inevitable hit of any YouTube party: let a man stand up who never in his life set up at four in the morning "... Baby One More Time". This week we finally plunged into memories of a great past: for example, we recalled Twin Peaks, reviewed David Fincher’s clips twenty years ago and could not resist the temptation to collect at least ten favorite images from the 90s music videos. Enjoy.
Christina Aguilera "What a Girl Wants"
The still vigorous Aguilera spends most of the clip in the typical role of a teenager who found himself (mother-of-pearl eyelids, "torn" blonde, indispensable lip gloss), but then suddenly turns out to be lying on a chaise longue in tiara, with taut shiny curls and cheeks of a puppet blush - in other words, all the best at once.
Annie Lennox "Why"
We are ready to watch for hours how another woman is making herself up - even on the camera. Honestly, we also like Annie Lennox in the initial shots, with her hair combed back and clean face, but with fuchsia shadows, brick lipstick, gold under the eyebrow and porcelain skin, it becomes completely differently luxurious, organic in boa and jewels.
Marilyn Manson "The Dope Show"
It’s blasphemous to choose the only entertaining Manson clip from the point of view of makeup, but we stopped at The Dope Show, not least because of its false chest - androgyny theme is now in the air. Habitually bleached face, bleached lips and accentuated eyes this time - if the attempt to repeat Odile's make-up from the Black Swan is unsuccessful, it is possible to refer to this work of Manson.
No Doubt "Don't Speak"
Gwen for twenty years, ten times transformed and finally honed her appearance of the perfect sports blonde, and the more interesting to watch how she went to this. In the heartbreaking clip "Don't Speak", Stephanie walks with a touching square, thin eyebrows and a distinct front sight between them - a detail that does almost everything.
Madonna "Vogue"
Madonna's almost noodles cinema Madonna "Vogue" is one of the most beautiful, as we see it, clips. Specially placed it under "Don't Speak" to show once again how blondes may look differently, made up, in general, with the same: red lipstick (despite b / w, in "Vogue" she read unmistakably), with mascara and dark pencil.
Destiny's Child "Get on the Bus"
Crop tops, a lot of metallic, infernal shoes, cars, guys - this is a universal description of Destiny's Child clips, in general. In our favorite Get on the Bus, all four soloists are made up according to one scheme (Beyonce, which is surprising, while it looks almost natural): a contour pencil of tones is five darker than lipstick, mother-of-pearl on the lips and from the ciliary edge to the eyebrows, bangs and long nails - where without them.
Garbage "The World Is Not Enough"
Eyeliner inner eyeliner, thickly painted eyelashes, eyebrows, strings, smooth hair, gold - the bondian's motives are guessed unmistakably, and Shirley Manson looks like a woman of level 80 (well, or not quite a woman). Red hair, matte lipstick of a deep shade and narrow tone in tone of the dress also resemble Jessica Rabbit, but the iteration of Manson is modernized to the desired degree - and good.
The Cranberries "Zombie"
Dark black-and-white species with a well-known subtext ("Zombie" - a reflection of the group on the terrorist attacks in England in 1993) are replaced by Dolores O'Riordan dodging at the cross, painted with gold paint from head to toe. She appears in another, no less clear, image, but with the approaching Halloween, we most likely recall the brightest natural way. We intend to repeat it soon - at least partially - with golden lipstick and fat Egyptian arrows.
Sinéad O'Connor "Nothing Compares 2 U"
The combination of extremely feminine, even modest make-up and boyish haircut of the singer is so advantageous that it is impossible not to watch the clip and then not to reconsider. We have long been convinced that the gray-brown shades of shades and lipsticks, which many people recall with ironic tenderness, can look good even now, and the particular Sinead makeup seems more modern, we would not change any lines in it.
Hole "Miss World"
We can not forget the anticipating scene, where Courtney Love generously powders the skin to whiteness (in fact, it just slaps the powder puff where it is necessary, but the picture is notable). Love has a very neat makeup by the standards of her aesthetics; The warm tone of the lipstick is a little embarrassed, as it seems to us, but this is remembered: other similar make-ups with a prominent arrow, clear eyebrows and red lipstick can be boring precisely because of their accuracy.
