The career path of the 23-year-old Ava Smith recalls the history of Arizona Muse and Saskia de Brau: the girl began working as a teenager, but real success came to her after a long break. A Scout of the Elite Chicago branch spotted Ava when she was about fifteen, and soon the novice model signed a contract with an agency in New York. It is impossible to say that the girl’s career didn’t work right away. On the contrary, in the early years of work, she was shot for Russian and British Vogue, and David Sims captured her for the Benetton campaign. Soon, she made her debut on the catwalk in New York, but gradually there were less and less offers, the model switched to rare commercial shootings, and her dreams of a career almost evaporated.
This went on until last year. New York agency Wilhelmina decided to give Ava a second chance, and in September she went to the castings for spring-summer shows, where she did several shows in New York, London and Paris. Soon, the girl starred for several independent publications, and last month she tried herself again at Fashion Week. In the end, she made fifty-two shows, thanks to which she drew the attention of Italian Vogue and New York Magazine. Now she continues to make commercial shootings, but more often she is removed for editorial, and next season she wants to make a Prada show.
