From balaclava to beret: 15 hats for the winter

Text: Anya Krotikova

Despite the warm autumn, there is no reason to expect favors from nature this winter: weather forecasters promise prolonged frosts, snowfalls and other joys. All this is not a reason for sadness, but a great opportunity to try on a beret, a fur hat-pie or a balaclava. We tell where to look for a hat for the winter.

Balaclava

A radical option for those who barely put up with the weather. Balaclava will replace both a hat and a scarf at once, moreover, if earlier this headgear had to be found in specialized stores for snowboarders and skiers, then today there are own versions of a knitted helmet in a mass market and at expensive brands like Joseph. The balaclava will look great with a voluminous down jacket-blanket or a classic double-breasted coat. Evening version - a balaclava plus a fluffy fur coat made of faux fur - also has a right to exist, but it requires a certain amount of courage.

Beanie hat

Beanie cap, most likely, you already have - this is perhaps the most convenient option for a headdress for the winter: it keeps tightly on your head, covers your ears and warms, if made of wool. I'd like to find a replacement for last year? Look at models with large logos (you can't get away from zero this winter) or hats of cheerful colors. You will please yourself with them before leaving the house and others on the way to work.

Beret

To the main headdress of the 60s, popularity returned again in 2015. Today, designers decorate it with fur pompoms, brooches with large stones, stripes and a scattering of pearls. If the rich decor is not close to you, take a look at the classic scarlet, black and dark gray models of wool or soft cashmere with fluffy hair.

Faux Fur Cap

Artificial fur continues to crowd in natural: in 2017, synthetic materials are indistinguishable from astrakhan, mink and muton. In a pair of unicorn fur coats, we advise you to choose the same hat, however, this is not a quick deal: the designers remembered both the leopard print and the "sheepskin" and the ear-flap hat familiar from childhood. In a special esteem - a hat-pie which can be tried to look in vintage stores.

Kerchief

We advise opponents of headgear to take care of their hair (they also have a hard time in winter) and cover their heads with silk or woolen scarves. This option is not suitable for snowy weather, but in case you need to protect the installation from the wind - just right. A silk scarf with large patterns will complement the image with a fur coat of vintage cut and a tuxedo dress, but with a hyper-volume silver down jacket will look organically.
