Antitrands: 6 make-ups that defy the rules

We have repeatedly told As with the global revision of personal boundaries and attitudes toward women's rights in their own body, attitudes toward makeup are gradually changing. We no longer have to paint or refuse cosmetics forever, do not have to match colors to mythical color types, and in general, in order to enjoy colored arrows or holographic dripping, we don’t have to be women.

Despite the fact that the canon "clean face - wide eyebrows - natural make-up" almost stuck in the fashionable statutes of this decade, the real life of make-up fans and young professionals has long been outside the framework of boring prescriptions. Every week, the beauty community on the Internet invents new ways to decorate the face, body and hair, the most progressive makeup artists are inspired not only by classical beauty, but the smooth contours and carefully drawn arrows for many have already turned into excesses.

Attitude to makeup as a game, fun and self-determination has moved from instagrams and popular beauty blogs to the main fashion covers of the world. This year, the singer Rihanna for the British Vogue was painted by makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench, who came from the avant-garde to the very top of the gloss - eyebrows, which make-up artist painted on her model's face, caused a lot of discussion. And the cover of the American version of the magazine is decorated with a photograph of Beyoncé with the most simple "natural" makeup - despite different approaches, both issues are devoted to freedom of expression and preservation of individuality in its various manifestations.

We are still arguing, is it possible to make makeup a personal choice? There is no right answer to this question, but there are attempts by celebrities from the beauty industry to regain their own face, and not to draw a conventional mask. Even Hollywood actresses come out on the pompous red paths, unabashed by lavender lipstick, glitter on the eyebrows and a face thickly strewn with highlighters. Because makeup may well be the way we want to see it on ourselves.

Make-up again becomes a space for rebellion, protest, another opportunity to break the rules that we often question, but do not dare to abandon them altogether. In the end, is not it time to forget about the make-up, which is designed only to maintain the standards of beauty and "decorate." Today it is more interesting to play with the proportions of the face, to combine incompatible textures, to look at your own face from a different angle - but not with other people's eyes.

We were inspired by the six most vivid, ambiguous and discussed works of recent years and tried them on the faces of different models.

Eyebrow strings

Rihanna's makeup by Isamayi Ffrench genuinely scared someone, and led someone into mad delight - the entire Internet was discussing whether this crime against visage was destined to become a new mass trend or not. Of course, every second meykap-enthusiast has not yet begun to draw thin graphic eyebrows - this is more of a runway story, and it will remain so. But we recommend that you try the bold ones: you can remove your own eyebrows in different ways, and you can draw strings in an infinite number of options. For this make-up, we chose green wavy lines that look cool with fair skin and Sony hair.

Glass skin

This style of make-up, which Korean women have been in love with for several years, has become fashionable in Russia relatively recently: traditions prescribe to be shy of too radiant skin, which may look "just oily." This is not so: the proper selection of tools for creating a wet radiance and the development of simple techniques for applying them will do the trick. This makeup will help to transform the face no worse than multi-colored lipstick and carcass - it allows you to play with the line between natural and deliberately artificial. The theme can be continued by adding to the image a wet styling on the hair, which we did to create this image of Wari.

Not Barbie Pink

Until recently, there was little confidence in the pink color - it was associated with the "girlish" attributes and more often appeared in our agenda in the phrase "pink ghetto". But a few years ago, shades of pink came into vogue, and in 2017 it became a full-fledged symbol of female protest and almost the color of strength, rather than the choice of the "weaker sex." However, pink and red are not always resolved to wear because of the long-forbidden effect of tear-stained eyes and their ability to accentuate pimples and reddening. We recommend to forget about it: to the pink lipstick on the lips of Marina, we added a little blush on the tip of the nose and did not resort to the help of concealer.

Sophisticated colors

If you still think that deep dark shades, which are packaged in Smokey-Aise palettes, exist only for "fatal" makeup - you should definitely try to reconsider this position. In the obligatory pair to saturated dark blue, gray and burgundy colors they attribute clean skin, the absence of any irregularities and even bruises under the eyes. We call on hooligans even with the most seemingly complex schemes - for example, we turned the traditional Smokey face on Sony's face into stylized bruises under our eyes from lack of sleep.

Metallic Without Borders

Complex textures are often considered "capricious" - indeed, in professional make-up, bright shadows cannot be imagined without an ideal base under them, and the metallic materials with which they make jewelry accents are often difficult to use at home in front of the mirror. But this is not a reason to put aside the most beautiful shadows, eyeliners and lipsticks. Go beyond the contour, mix textures and use products for other purposes. And also do not be afraid of too shining accents in combination with the same wet skin: both techniques successfully emphasize each other, rather than interrupt.

Rhinestones for no reason

Brilliant, sparkling and iridescent elements in make-up are more often considered to be attributes of kitsch, “youth” and drag-up makeup - this really can be so, but no one said that playful accents have no place in minimalism. Do not put all the best at once, but leave only a thin strip of glitter under the eyebrow, make a translucent arrow with glitters or paste the rhinestones in a line along the lower eyelid, as we did in the make-up of the marina, - a technique that fits a dozen different images and situations.
