Bang Head! Bang! Education Nastya Mikhailova about favorite outfits
FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week our heroine is the head of the Bang educational project! Bang! Education Nastya Mikhailova.
Perhaps, all the clothes for me are divided into two categories: the most neutral and simple things that sit well and do not distract me and others, and things that cause persistent associations and images. Moreover, I perceive the image here in the widest sense - from straightforward references to heroes of cartoons or subcultures to flirting with historical characters and whole social and cultural layers. In general, the game is the most interesting part of daily dressing up.
Looking just good or attractive by the age of thirty is not difficult regardless of the budget and your personal preferences, to divide the wardrobe into a comfortable for every day and elegant to go out - too. Simple effective techniques - beautiful and bright prints, sequins fields or classic elegant forms - at one moment are very boring. It becomes interesting to listen to oneself and various manifestations of one’s own character, to single out and exaggerate them, to try on roles without getting up to a very theatrical scene. Non-standard proportions, combinations of textures and colors, working with the brain and perception in the most unexpected way for an unprepared viewer, help a lot.
Muji turtleneck, Nina Donis sundress, ASICS sneakers
A couple of years ago I really liked the white color in clothes. Pure white looks very elegant and cuts many eyes, besides, it is more interesting to explore shades of white by combining textures and shapes, which is what I do. A turtleneck from Muji is a Japanese store of all the most neutral in the world, where you can find a couple of really irreplaceable things. If, for example, one day you try to write with a Muji pen, then all other pens will seem a torment. So with shirts and turtlenecks - they are made of excellent materials and seem to be worn forever; have perfect proportions and blend in well with almost anything.
In Nina Donis clothes I really like the convention of all references and associations that they use in design. The 20s, the Victorian style or new romantics - in this sundress you can find all this, but it remains abstract enough to be worn on any summer day and not look back at these cultural references.
My first and most favorite ASICS from the Yin & Yang series about black and white. I ordered them on the Internet, I was looking for size for a long time - this is a pair from the men's line, and I needed the smallest one. After them it is difficult to wear any other sneakers, the legs in the "asix" seem to walk in the clouds.
Sweater Demidenko Dress, Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop skirt, Vagabond shoes
Well, this is such a punk princess. With pink color, lace and other forcefully cute maiden paraphernalia, I had a difficult relationship for a long time. Since my childhood my mother often tried to dress me up as a princess Rozochka, but from about five years old I flatly refused to wear everything pretty and in general started controlling my wardrobe very early, although for this sometimes I had to resort to hysterics and scandals. Now I gradually live again and regain for myself the lost and the denied - I already love frills and laces with all my heart, while it is more difficult with pink. In this sweater, I like the simultaneous innocent airiness and the pervasive feeling of the rottenness of all things. He is very from the 90s and as if with a heroin mood.
Meadham Kirchhoff is a duet of real punk from the world of high fashion. For Topshop, they made a very ridiculous collection with acidic fur, infantile frills and big-eyed characters, that is, with everything that Alice would have seen and put on when she had matured from Wonderland in the 70s and hitchhiking to trip to Las Vegas. This skirt is perhaps the most wearable of the entire collection.
Turtleneck Nina Donis, Afends jeans, Uniqlo socks, Reebok sneakers
In this outfit, I went through most of the past and this winter, and even recently I restrain myself when my hand reaches out again for these things. Nina Donis sweatshirt is very strict on the outside and soft on the inside, it lengthens the neck, and behind a tight collar you can hide from prying eyes if necessary. And if you look closely, the attention to detail in it is striking: the hand painted with paint strokes, the embroidered cross, the non-standard cut of the sleeves make an ordinary black sweatshirt almost a work of art that can be worn at least every day.
Simple black jeans turned out to be a real problem — there were excellent mom in Topshop, but black paint comes off them after a couple of washes, even in cold water. These Australian seem to hold on for now. Socks are my fetish, and the best are exactly made in Japan, there is only Uniqlo on hand. Reebok Classic is always in the wardrobe, black or white - these are so versatile sneakers that I never found a replacement for them.
Christian Dior skirt, vintage shirt and belt, loafers Dr. Martens
I treat vintage things with love and caution - there is always the risk of creeping into very straightforward and concrete associations and acting as a dusty illustration of the encyclopedia of fashion. It was in this form that I spent an unforgettable vacation in Mexico, so for me this is a dress of a white planter, rubbing his hands admiringly and greedily at the sight of Latin American abundance.
A separate word is worth a belt - this is a legacy from mom, clean kitsch, of course, but in its own way very elegant. As, however, and "Martins" with white tassels, having passed through the summer heat, winter drifts, morning dances, night montages and other adventures and still not lost faces.
Gianfranco Ferré shirt, Finery London sundress, Monki kimono, Robert Clergerie shoes
The shirt is an old catch from eBay, it is completely wild, with a gold-stitched leopard embroidered on its back sitting on a tiger's bedspread. But here you will not see him, this entire outfit as a whole is about a secret and hidden one, and a kimono-tailored cape adds an Asian accent. Actually, I dream of a real Japanese kimono, silk and with some vulgarly embroidered motif like storks or lily pads, to walk in it at home, like the smartest women from the darkest perestroika movie. But for now let it be so.
Velvet shoes, in principle, rarely manage to wear, but these especially want to take care, they have, like all Robert Clergerie shoes, a bit strange, but very elegant proportions, which are now actively used by fashion brands like Maryam Nassir Zadeh.
Longsleeve Maison Martin Margiela x H & M, J.W.Anderson x Topshop sundress, Vagabond shoes
I love and respect designer collaborations with cheap brands - probably, it is difficult not to notice. Specifically, this combination of many introduces into a stupor: I never would have thought that nylon longsleeve can really be mistaken for a naked tattooed body, but, apparently, a very classic, purist sundress, almost taken from an English boarding school girl, creates the right contrast.
In general, I am very impressed with the idea of uniform and its interpretations in real life. A piece of clothing, tightly associated with a certain employment, age, social status, is freed from conventions and begins to live a new life in everyday life - this process (and people's reaction to it) is interesting to watch on yourself and, as it were, a little from the outside.
Vagabond invent in Sweden, and the guys there, it seems, know how to put on shoes in the Russian winter and not screw it up. These shoes have a very thick sole, so that they can be worn in cold and slush, without fear of freezing or spoiling leather shoes.
Gap shirt, COMME des GARÇONS skirt, hat of unknown brand, loafers Dr. Martens
I love peas and wear them in any incomprehensible situation, but here, perhaps, the greatest concentration of peas at the same time. Rei Kawakubo is also a well-known lover of peas, and I like that there is not a drop of high-pitchedness or tension in this skirt - she is so simple and relaxed, as if you came to the cottage and are going, for example, to walk, watch butterflies and catch frogs.
True, before such a walk, a panama hat must be removed. She was presented by her mother in a fit of care, but she actually performs her very direct function very poorly - in the heat, the black fabric heats up instantly, and therefore it is absolutely impossible to walk in it under the sun.
Sweatshirt and shorts Nina Donis, Reebok sneakers
This is a sweatshirt from a relatively old collection, and here again stripes and geometric cuts immediately evoke associations with constructivism and Varvara Stepanova. In life, this is just a very comfortable and versatile clothing, in which you can do great things, but you can - exercise.
Sundress COMME des GARÇONS, Uniqlo shirt, Converse sneakers
If I had to choose only two brands, I would stop at CdG and Uniqlo. They completely cover all my needs - both basic and expressive. This, for example, is a pure image, as if taken out of context and projected onto modern reality. Something about the sister of mercy, sterile cleanliness, mutual aid and, possibly, all-conquering good. I dress so seldom and with certain goals, a very strong emotional charge.
Baserange Sundress, Topshop T-shirt
Baserange is a great French-Danish brand that makes comfortable underwear and basic, but not boring, clothes made from natural organic materials. A funny story came out with this sundress, I wanted it for a long time, but somehow everything didn’t have any extra money, and when they appeared, the sundress was bought up in all more or less well-known online stores, it remained only on the brand’s website. I originally ordered a black sundress, but the guys from the store wrote that, in fact, black was all over, and light too, there was only one L size, and we would not send it to you, because FedEx does not deliver to Russia, and the parcels by regular mail disappear .
I had to persuade them for a long time, even applying the paradoxical argument that in Russia we live according to the principle "who does not risk, he does not drink champagne." Surprisingly, it worked. In the sundress, I went through all the past summer and I am going to repeat the success with this. I am impressed by his relaxation and even some variation - the strings can be tied in different ways. T-shirt - from a girlish swap, a never-ending source of great mood and classy, non-binding things from the best girls of the city.
Sleeveless Ryan Roche x J.Crew, T-shirt H & M Conscious, jeans Marques'Almeida x Topshop, shoes Jil Sander
Ryan Roche has very beautiful knitted and woolen items of large unpredictable shapes and delicate marshmallows, all with a little loose pendants and delicate ruffles - such a comfortable expression of children's lightness and immediacy for adults. There are even shaggy pink pants. It is worth all this inhuman money, so all the comfort at the sight of the price disappears somewhere.
Therefore, I was only enough for their collaboration with J.Crew, but even in it there is a very pleasant quality of wool and the execution itself, and in the hanging tails, there is something from the felled wool of a large and affectionate white animal. And what could be better than a large and affectionate white animal? In order not to drown in these tenderness at all, I wear pendants with Jil Sander shoes, strict and precise guys, also a little from the 90s. The studs are not for me at all, but such a square high heel is surprisingly comfortable.
Monki raincoat, Zara dress, Vagabond boots
Monki's usually merry ones have very successful restrained things, their black artificial fur coat, for example, saves me even to minus 15, and this raincoat-kimono is just a godsend. Cute denim shade, universal kimonoshny cut and comfortable length, can be worn as a dress, can be like a raincoat, in any case there is some kind of calm and harmonious feeling in this subject.
Ann Demeulemeester jacket, Muji turtleneck, Zara skirt, Vagabond boots
I treat Ann Demeulemeester with great caution and, perhaps, even prejudice - for me it’s often too complex clothes, which are also invented as if for tall and skinny people, but I’m obviously not one of them. But this jacket is at the same time very classic - and very strange, perfectly tailored - but torn and staccato. I wear it in a gloomy mood and at work meetings - it acts inexorably.
In Zara, of course, there are cool transcriptions of high stylistic ideas in a cheap manner. The main thing here is to look at the quality of the fabric and performance, so as not to buy a thing at once - well, or clearly realize that you buy a thing at one time. For example, with this skirt-apron, which is a bit like Japanese clothes from the 80s, everything would be fine if she did not collect all the dust particles, hairs and hairs within a few meters around her.
Unnamed Mexican decorations
I have a complicated relationship with jewelry: I almost can’t wear earrings and rings, and I feel the rest of it, too, I really feel about myself - everything is pressing or tight. Therefore, almost all of my jewelry is something on the verge of spiritual practices, something like amulets, or at least objects closely related to certain places or events. For example, it’s as if these children's baubles were brought from Mexico, where local women knit them with tons, and here I wear expensive and rich clothes or everything. Bracelet with pearls and burgundy pendants also from Mexico, although made in Argentina. For some reason, he reminds me of horse tails.
S-11 badges, Arrow bars and Clevermoto, O Thongthai ring, nameless chain with cross
Instead of brooches I often wear badges - these are all from different institutions, but made by one person, an excellent designer Dima Pantyushin. Three wings remained after two years of work in the Strelka bar, we distributed them to regular visitors at parties in 2012-2013, so now that you meet even a stranger with a wing on a T-shirt, you feel involved, something like a secret community or sect.
The O Thongtai ring was recently presented to two wonderful friends, a sword with a heart on its handle is essentially a silly set of symbols, but it is so kind and made of brass, very pleasant to the metal body, so you want to wear it without removing it. If I get angry at someone, I start imagining how to chop him up with this toy sword with a heart burning in the dark, as if from an eighty-anime anime, and it is so funny and entertaining that there is no time left for anger.
I bought a chain with a cross in the plane in New York, where I accidentally forgot it in the apartment, so that she spent four months getting four people back to me. The cross itself does not carry any sacred meaning for me, and it is used here very liberally, but, however strange it may sound, this bauble, it seems, really protects me from many nonsense and recklessness.
Reine d'Amour Decoration for Sir John Soane Museum
The pendant reminds of one of the best museums in the world and depicts not even a shell, but the back of the Piranesi chair. I love such details and hidden meanings, and I really like freshwater pearls.
Chanel Sycomore Perfume
This is the most favorite smell, although it is difficult to live with it, it is very corrosive and uncontrollable - I quickly cease to feel it, whereas for others it only gets stronger over time, but it always receives compliments. For me, this is some kind of exotic fruit with thick skin and juicy flesh, rotting among mossy roots in the jungle.
Perfume Santa Maria Novella Nostalgia, Penhaligon's Bluebell, COMME des GARÇONS Daphne, Le Labo Aldehyde 44
Smells are, of course, a separate topic in which you can talk more about internal sensations and projections, rather than external images. Here are the most frequently used, albeit very different. Nostalgia smells like gasoline and leather gloves soaked with it. It warms and refreshes at the same time, who rides a motorcycle, probably will understand. Bluebell is not really a bell at all, but the ground beneath it, as if it had fallen on its face in a garden bed, completely exhausted and lying in it, listening to the bugs and the creaking of the grass. Some scare, but I like Kate Moss. Daphne is a smell for furs and red velvet; it is alien to other surfaces. Le Labo has ceased to produce this aldehyde, chemical flower, so I use it in extreme cases - it is very strict and business-like, gives an adamant glassiness to the look.
Hat Zara and panama unknown brand
Hats as a phenomenon are very sympathetic and often cite from travel (though I often lose it there). I have a peculiar shape of the face and a very small head, with which all the hats fly off, and it is difficult to fit them into the rest of the wardrobe and not forgetting to wear at the right time. These two hats are undoubted summer hits: the first Zara is neutral, but with character, the second is nameless, a gift from the mother, impractical, but very beautiful.
Jil Sander shoes, ASICS sneakers
I really like shoes with their fashionable unfashionable, inexplicable touch of the 90s. They seem to have nothing, but a sharp nose, a characteristic color and a square heel add up to a very specific type. I don’t wear them infrequently, so even good friends who often see me on their heels are surprised every time.
This is the latest bought sneakers after a year and a half of search - teenage model for boys. I would like to meet a teenage boy who would wear such sneakers made of shiny fabric, suede and reflective stripes. Many models of "asiks" have a very convenient and non-standard tongue. These, for example, are generally worn like socks and sit like a second skin.
