Makeup artist Fariza Rodriguez about blepharoplasty and your favorite makeup
FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.
About the profession
I have been working as a make-up artist for less than a year and I enjoy my decision almost every day, although it was difficult to accept it. Makeup is present in my life for 7-8 years: it all started with the fact that a friend-photographer asked to help her on the set - it turned out well and things went well. Then it didn’t even occur to me to turn my passion into a business of life - installations like “work must be serious” were strong. Most often, I painted friends and acquaintances for the shooting - it always brought pleasure, and sometimes money.
I graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, I worked by profession, then I moved to PR. For the last five years, she has led several projects in a company that sells products and products for aesthetic medicine. She looked at the work of doctors every day, attended congresses around the world, communicated with patients — it was very interesting. This experience is useful to me and now - I keep a manic eye on the purity of cosmetics; I can well imagine where and what amount of anti-age makeup is needed, etc.
One day, I realized that I no longer want to coordinate processes, but I want to create beauty myself and see the concrete result of my work here and now. It was clear that a change of activity would entail, at least for a while, a sharp decline in income. In conditions when we are equally involved in the family budget with my husband and we have a small child, this is not easy. But I made up my mind, and, despite the difficulties, I am very pleased with myself and with what is happening: when you love what you do and are ready to give two hundred percent, it cannot fail.
I subscribe to a bunch of interesting Instagram accounts - stylists, makeup artists, photographers. It is interesting to observe how the same ideas come to people in different points of light. It keeps you in good shape - when you see how many professionals and talents in the world, you just can’t sit back and not develop.
About sport
Nothing cooler than sports and good nutrition have not yet been invented. Cosmetology and plastic surgery work wonders - today at 50, and at 70 you can look very cool. But it is important to understand: this result will also need to be supported and it will take a lot of money if you continue to be lazy.
I still cannot build an adequate relationship with sports. My dream is to find a regime that you can stick to all the time. In the meantime, my schedule: three months of hedonism - three months of austerity and intensive training of the "no pain - to gain" format, and so on to infinity. I like to set personal records, do exercises to failure. Most of all I liked my figure and state of health when combining power and aerobic exercise in the hall (4 times a week) with an acrobatic pole (2 times).
EMS works well and fast - fitness workouts in special suits that send electronic impulses for additional muscle stimulation. The only negative is that there is no moral satisfaction from them, that wonderful feeling that you could, tried, did.
About injections and blepharoplasty
Basically, the beautician takes care of my face. When I was 25 years old, I first injected Botox — a noticeable wrinkle between the eyebrows appeared because of active facial expressions, and I didn’t like it. Since then, I finish it as needed - about once every six months. A year ago, after losing much weight, she added volume to her cheekbones - a filler based on hyaluronic acid. Twice a year - biorevitalization and peeling for moisturized, smooth and radiant skin. Once every three months - cleaning. If you go in for sports and go to a bath, the duration of the effect of fillers and botox is reduced, but there's nothing you can do.
A few months ago, I made a transconjunctival blepharoplasty, and only under the right eye. At some point, a temporary edema turned into a plump and permanent hernia, and this in 99.9% of cases makes the face tired and unhappy. The beauty of transconjunctival blepharoplasty is that the incision to extract a hernia is made on the mucous membrane - on the inner side of the lower eyelid, and the operation is performed under local anesthesia. It turns out less traumatic, and the result can be estimated immediately. On the third or fourth day, the postoperative bruise can already be hidden under a layer of concealers and proofreaders, and after a week, it is as if nothing had happened.
The most important thing for my skin is deep cleansing and moisturizing. I never forget to remove makeup and apply a moisturizer. Every three days I make a peeling tony roll Tony Moly and a mask with clay. I love to try new products, despite the fact that I am allergic. In my beauty experiments, by the way, this is often a problem. For example, I can not dye my hair without a risk to health - it is very sad, I would love to change the color once a month. On the other hand, they are brilliant, healthy, grow quickly and almost do not require care. The Spanish Orofluido line with argan (shampoo, balm, oil) is enough for me to be happy.
In home pampering, I do not have a clear system. I love oils - now this is enough to make the skin look good and elastic. From each trip I try to bring something new - at the moment I use rose oil, which I bought in Bulgaria. A bath is always a ritual. It reminds me of witch soup: aroma oils, herbal decoctions, salt, Lush bombs, froth, milk, honey, and perhaps something else from the fridge are used. I will not argue that they are effective, but they are perfectly relaxing. In an ideal world, I would have time to visit the pool and the hammam once a week.
Pro makeup
The older I get, the more I fall in love with life, so I am sure: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A lot depends on what you want to see: I want to see the beautiful - it turns out. There are my preferences in beauty - this is what I personally aspire to, but I understand that there are other opinions and ideas. I do not think that in this matter one can claim objectivity.
Makeup for me is a game. When I paint, it is always some kind of mood, image, set of impressions or ideas that I want to embody. I can be affected by music, a book, a film, an event, or a beautiful color of packaging in a store, a conversation with a friend, a cartoon that a son is watching, the weather, a place - anything. Perhaps that is why I do not have "my" makeup, as there is no strictly "my" style of dressing. I try not to deny myself anything, except for situations when something frankly does not decorate. For example, I terribly fell in love with Lime Crime's Cashmere shade, and he made me look like a dead man with yellow teeth.
I love experimenting with color, shape, and style. Today I contour and glue eyelashes, tomorrow I will make up soft blue lipstick, I am almost equally comfortable in any make-up, possibly due to informal youth. Being appropriate is also good: I see no reason to shock and provoke, if I, say, go to change my passport or go to paint the director of a serious company, in the end it will be awkward for everyone.
Shooting with minimal makeup, I want to remind you of two things. Firstly, each person is interesting in itself. Relationships with makeup are similar to relationships with clothes: we can emphasize dignity, hide what we think is a disadvantage, provoke, talk about ourselves, but in the end, it’s important to love and accept your face and body first of all, to be with them on friendly terms. Secondly, each face is a clean sheet. You can draw anything that you want or seems to be necessary and important, it does not oblige to anything and should only be a joy.
