Yellow Blush: Color Face Sculpting

Spring-summer season always passes under the sign of bright colors, and today they do not have to be worn on the eyes or lips: a bright accent may well take up most of the face or take on the place of the blush and sculptors of the usual gray-beige shades. We tell how it is advantageous to use a palette of multi-colored shadows, if you no longer need conditional rainbow-colored smokes.

How it started

Despite the fact that the "invisible" nude does not lose ground in terms of everyday fashion, it is very difficult to use it for professional self-expression - therefore the widespread return of techniques from the 80s both in clothes and makeup has become a celebration for makeup artists working at shows and filming. So, one of the most memorable exits of last year’s spring-summer shows was the make-up invented for the Kenzo show: although many people paid tribute to Guy Burden’s signature technique that season, this bright red lipstick and rouge ensemble looked cooler than others.

Of course, this is not the first time when models go to the podium with faces painted by more than ten percent: a variety of colored feathers that go beyond the eyes are the usual element of art makeup. For example, in 2016, a kind of “mask”, carefully bypassing the eyes and the bridge of the nose, became the main makeup element at the Chanel show, with the restraint of the rest of the image.

The make-up, which previously existed rather in the space of podium fantasies, is confidently moving towards more applied options: the latest Instagram trend is yellow blush in a wide variety of combinations, from contrasting to absolutely monochrome (however, we suggested a similar idea three years ago). And if highlighters with blue, green and any other "mermaid" ebb look familiar for a long time, then the use of intense color in an unexpected position for him is not a very developed territory yet. We are pleased to welcome: if the iridescent hair and multi-colored eyelashes delight many, why shouldn't bright color lovers try to reconcile the whole color spectrum on their faces using it for contouring?

Why do we need it

If shining pastels, hinting at your origin of unicorns, have already started to grind, but the very idea of a colorful and varied make-up is close to you, try to draw a red, yellow or blue stripe from the cheekbones to the temple. Bright colors that go beyond the limits of “natural” for your skin set, simply can not “not go”: among the hundreds of shades everyone can find their own. Color palettes and pigments are gathering dust on the shelves of many of us - most often due to the fact that in the make-up we assign only one zone to such products.

Lipsticks of unusual colors can be used outside the lips, but if very few of them can be used before the eyes, then they are quite suitable for the other parts of the face - in one tube there is a quick and non-dull version of make-up. And for ardent opponents of contouring and other methods of “sculpting”, multi-colored sculpture is a great way to ironically rethink controversial, but still the most popular type of makeup.

How to do it

You can use any dry and cream products that are easily bleached and layered: you can use them according to classical schemes or come up with your own. The symmetrical feathering of the color from the eyes to the temples looks great and is easy to give even to those who are not at all full of hand: a comfortable wide brush to help you. In order to make the color stain cleaner and more beautiful, it is better to prepare the skin and apply the base. Starting with the tone, you can adjust the desired color temperature: a yellow subtone will make your face “warm” for your face and cool pink for your face.
