From creams to patches: 20 hyaluronic acid products

Last week we told How and why hyaluronic acid has become one of the most effective and popular moisturizing ingredients. Manufacturers rarely indicate its content in cosmetics, but usually it does not exceed 2%. Sometimes you can find products that claim from 75 to 100% hyaluronic acid, but upon closer examination it turns out that the composition does not consist of pure hyaluronic acid, but a mixture of water, hyaluronic acid and various extracts. If you carefully read our previous material, then you know that for effective hydration it is not at all required that the percentage of hyaluronic acid in a cream or serum goes off scale. Where more important to apply the right means.

Hyaluronic acid moisturizes the skin due to the fact that it attracts and holds water in it, but this water must come from somewhere. Experts warn that in dry climates, when applied to a dry face, the hyaluronum will begin to draw water from the deeper layers of the skin to the surface and thereby produce the effect exactly the opposite of what was expected. This is the main nuance of using products with hyaluronic acid. It should either be dissolved in a large amount of water (for example, in the form of tonics and lotions), or it should be applied to moist skin (this applies to serums and creams). Logically, in a humid climate, hyaluronic acid works fine by itself.

Another problem, also associated with dry air, is the loss of water. However effective hyaluronic acid may be, dry air and sun will cause water to evaporate from the skin. To keep this process to a minimum, on top of hyaluronic acid products, you should use creams that contain “locking” components - silicones or oils, or pure oils. Many products contain water-retaining and “locking” components at the same time, which makes them versatile and frees them from the need to layered on caring cosmetics.

In this material we will talk about successful products with hyaluronic acid for different types and needs of the skin - from tonic and serum to creams and patches. The only format that we deliberately ignore is the washbasin. The fact is that the moisturizing ingredients in cosmetics work only when they are on the skin for a long time, and cleansing agents are taken to wash off almost immediately.

Tonic

Hyaluronic acid tonic is an excellent remedy for oily dehydrated skin, they are quickly absorbed and do not provoke fat. Usually moisturizing tonics are released without a sprayer, it is assumed that you will apply them with a cotton pad. LabMuffin blog author Michel Wong advises pouring tonics into a spray bottle and spraying them on the face during the day - this way you can evenly moisturize your skin and save money. The option is even easier - immediately choose the means in the form of a spray.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Essence Mist

In addition to hyaluronic acid, this moisturizing spray contains glycerin and plant extracts. It is great moisturizing and refreshing, and if you keep it in the refrigerator, it helps to wake up in the morning. Whether this remedy justifies its cost is another question, but if there is an opportunity to try it, then why not.

Librederm "Hyaluronic Water"

This face spray contains sodium hyaluronate, a low molecular weight hyaluronic acid salt. It is assumed that it penetrates the skin more easily and moisturizes it deeply. It's nice that domestic manufacturers began to make decent products that at least I want to try.

Tony Moly Aquaporin Moisture Mist

A light moisturizing spray can be applied both immediately after washing and during the day to refresh the face. It has a very small nebulizer, and the product costs significantly less than its European counterparts.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist

In Russia, this British brand is not available (we hope, temporarily), but it is not difficult to order it from foreign online stores. This face spray in a humid climate can easily make a full moisturizer. It softens and soothes the skin, and also helps fight irritation.

Lotions

For lotions with hyaluronic acid should be treated primarily to Asian manufacturers. As a rule, such lotions are slightly thicker than water and quickly absorbed, but they may contain silicones, oils, and all sorts of useful extracts, which turn a moisturizing lotion into a complete caring agent. Owners of oily skin in hot weather may well be just such a lotion. It is best to apply them not with a cotton swab, but with your hands and easily massage or hammer into the skin until completely absorbed.

Hada Labo Gokujyun

The Japanese brand Hada Labo will find products with hyaluronic acid for every taste - from spray to mask. This lotion is the best selling brand name product that is recommended for any skin type. It makes sense to begin acquaintance with hyaluronic acid from him.

Holika Holika 3 Seconds Starter

"The rule of three seconds," according to which you need to have time to moisturize the skin within three seconds after washing, it seems to us difficult. Simply apply this light gel to wet skin immediately after cleansing or using tonic. The starter is very light, quickly absorbed and almost odorless, and it lasts for almost a year of daily use.

Melvita Eau Extraordinaire Fleur D'Oranger

Melvita has such water in several versions: with rose, orange and witch hazel. Lotions deeply moisturize the skin due to the content of hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid. The composition of these products will appeal to fans of organic cosmetics because of herbal extracts.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner

Although this tool is called tonic, it has a rather thick texture. It contains oils and plant extracts and is perfect for dry skin. The brand also has a version of oil-free hyaluronic acid tonic for oily skin.

Sera

Serums with hyaluronic acid often have the most ascetic composition - in addition to hyaluronic, they contain only water and preservatives. They perfectly moisturize and are especially well suited to owners of oily and sensitive skin. The main thing - remember: in order for water to remain in the skin, you need to create a barrier that will not allow it to evaporate quickly. Therefore, after a moisturizing serum, it is worth applying a cream or gel containing silicones or oils in order to “lock” moisture in the skin. Many serums already contain silicones, so we advise you to observe the reaction of the skin: if there is not enough moisture during the day, you should apply a cream with a more dense texture over the serum.

Hylamide Booster Low-Molecular HA Serum

The Hylamide brand creates hyaluronic acid based products for various skin types and needs. Among them are anti-aging serum, and to combat acne. This serum just well moisturizes due to hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid in the composition. It can also be added to their usual cosmetics, including decorative.

The Saem Power Ampoule Hydra

The manufacturer promises that there are as many as five types of hyaluronic acid, which causes questions, taking into account the fact that only three are used in the production of cosmetics. Nevertheless, it moistens the serum more than well, and the effect lasts all day if a protective cream or gel is applied over it. When applied, the serum is slightly sticky, but this sensation passes quickly.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Power Serum

Caroline Skinons, a skin care specialist, once wrote about this tool: "This serum should not work, but it works." Indeed, the composition of her completely unremarkable, but the tool perfectly moisturizes and fights against dehydration of the skin of any type. Perhaps, Vichy serum is another reason to think that judging cosmetics only by its composition is not worth it, everything needs to be tried.

Derma E Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

This serum has a dense texture, so it looks more like a cream. It is quickly absorbed and leaves no stickiness or film on the skin. Holders of skin prone to dryness will especially appreciate it for use under a protective cream or oil, and for oily skin, it is quite suitable as an independent means. The serum also has a pleasant volume - 60 ml versus the usual 30.

Creams

Moisturizers with hyaluronic acid - universal dual action. At the same time, they fill the skin with water due to water-holding substances and retain it due to "locking" components. You do not always want to use several layers of care, especially in hot weather, and in this case, a cream with hyaluronk is the easiest and most effective way to moisturize even dry skin for a long time.

Mizon Hyaluronic Ultra Suboon Cream

Cream-gel when applied to the skin instantly turns into water and is suitable even for oily skin. At the same time, as silicate-containing components, water contains silicones, so the moisturizing effect will persist for a long time. Mizon cream can also be used as a serum for more dense textures.

Clarins HydraQuench Cream

HydraQuench has a cream for all skin types, and they all contain hyaluronic acid for moisturizing. As with any cream, you should not expect miracles from them, but these are very good basic products that do not provoke irritations. Another nice thing is that there are versions with sunscreens.

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet

Very light cream that works well in conjunction with the serum from the same line. It is quickly absorbed, refreshing and even suitable for dry and sensitive skin. In addition to this sorbet, Caudalie has several more creams for different skin types, so if you need a more dense texture for the cold season, you will also find it in the brand.

Doliva "Moisturizing cream with hyaluronic acid"

Brand Doliva, as it is easy to guess from the name, creates cosmetics based on olive oil. It is a light cream, but it contains, among other things, shea butter, therefore, people with problematic skin prone to clogging of the pores may not be suitable. The rest is just a good base cream for a relatively low price.

Extra care

Today, hyaluronic acid is added wherever possible. And although the blush with hyaluronka cause skepticism rather than interest, but there are also some interesting options. For example, eye patches and lip balms containing hyaluronic acid are at least meaningless. To try them or not - everyone decides for himself, but we believe that it will be useful to mention them.

Librederm Patch Filler with Hyaluronic Acid Microneedles

Microneedles provide penetration of moisturizing ingredients into the skin. These patches are a kind of biorevitalization at home for the skin around the eyes. Their price is high, but the effect is promised to be appropriate. They produce patches in Korea, and there they know exactly how to moisturize the skin well.

Concentrate Paula's Choice Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster

Concentrated serum of the international star of the world of cosmetics - Flooring Runner. It is assumed that you will not use it in its pure form, but add to your usual care in order to give the creams additional moisturizing properties.

Japan Gals Pure 5 Essential masks with hyaluronic acid

Leaf masks Japan Gals have long been sold in Russia, and their range is increased almost every month. They produce these masks in packs of 7 and 30 pieces, and they are designed for use by the course, which, of course, does not prevent us from using them only from time to time. Masks with hyaluronic acid soften and moisturize the skin, and we do not expect more from hyaluronic acid.

Dior Lip Maximizer Lip Gloss

The manufacturer promises to increase the volume of lips due to the content in the brilliance of menthol and hyaluronic acid spheres. We urge not to harbor any illusions about lip augmentation, but we cannot but admit: the brilliance really moisturizes and cares for lips.
