"All for your sake": 29 men in the form of ex-boyfriend
EVERY DAY PHOTOGRAPHERS AROUND THE WORLD looking for new ways to tell stories or to capture what we previously did not notice. We choose interesting photo projects and ask their authors what they wanted to say. This week we are publishing the series "I Did It All for You" by young photographer Stevie Raylinn, in which she repeatedly and with different men reproduced a frame dear to her heart.
I have always had a passion for photography: this is the only thing in which I like to learn from my mistakes. I truly believe that everyone can become a photographer. The only difference is in the approach: either you strive to capture objects and start photographing, or you become a photographer and discover in yourself a craving to capture reality. The idea of this project is an attempt to recreate a single photograph from the number of photographs left from my ended relationships. In this picture - all the fragility of the feelings that I felt about the man and felt from him in response to the end of our relationship. But most of the heroes who took part in the project as a model were not aware of this idea. I did not in any way try to manipulate them and use their individuality - on the contrary, I tried to create a gallery of anonymous portraits, each of which is unique. Thus, I pay tribute to a man who meant a lot to me and became the prototype for this series, but at the same time I admit that he is only one of the countless men of this world, among whom he will be lost and dissolved at some point.
In fact, I'm interested in photography, because I feel that I can give something with it to the world in return for what it gives me. It is a way and means of expressing yourself and experiences that seem worthy to me to share with viewers. This particular project is in some way a personal archive, it expresses my need to record every important stage or change in my life. For me, romantic relationships are the best way to get to know yourself, and this series is a reflection on one of these relationships, an attempt to find a way to share this experience with the world.
