Berlin Scene: Models
For a long time, the phrase "German model" was associated in people only with Claudia Schiffer and Heidi Klum. Now on world podiums there are more and more people willing to take their place. Look At Me talks about fifteen German models that flash on the catwalks and magazine covers more often.
Kati Nesher
Kati Nesher was born in Russia, but began working as a model in Germany, where she moved with her family when she was a child. According to model measures, Nesher began her career very late at twenty-seven. “I don’t think that age is so important in this matter, but it’s always interesting to observe how people react when they find out how old I am.” Last fall, Katya started with a fashion show at the fashion week in Paris. This was followed by advertising contracts with Louis Vuitton, Pringle of Scotland, McQ and Prada. Despite the fact that Nesher brings up her little son, this season she took part in sixty-three shows and became the second most popular catwalk model.
Francis Frank
In 2004, while still a schoolgirl, Francis Frank became the winner of the Elite Model Look contest, after which she signed contracts with several world agencies. In 2006, Frank appeared on the cover of Russian Vogue, followed by shooting for English and American Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and participation in advertising campaigns of mass market brands like Bershka and Guess. Serious work on the podium for Francis began only this year, after she had noticeably lost weight and signed a contract with New York Models. This season, Frank participated in the show, held in New York, Milan and Paris, the most significant of which were Salvatore Ferragamo and Vivienne Westwood, and recently took part in the show of the cruise collection Chanel in Versailles.
Lena Hardt
In 2010, Lena signed a contract with the New York DNA, but her modeling career began to actively develop only now. In January, she becomes a model of the week at Models.com. And in the middle of February, Lena does the first shows at London Fashion Week - she works there with Christopher Kane and Burberry. Hardt never made it to New York in her first season, but she managed to take part in Vercase and YSL in Milan and Paris.
Tony garn
In the modeling business, 15-year-old Tony Garn began with an exclusive with Calvin Klein in 2008. Already in the next season, Tony took part in sixty shows, including Dior, Hermes and Dolce & Gabbana. After success on the catwalk, Garn becomes the face of all possible advertising campaigns - from Prada to H & M - and appears on several Vogue covers. Since last year, Tony has been working with Victoria's Secret, and more recently it became known that she will replace Andrian Liu and become the new “angel” of the brand. Now Tony occupies the twentieth place in the world model rating and is among the highest paid models.
Antonia Vesselo
As a child, Anthony Vesselo dreamed of being an actress, at one of the casting actor she met an agent who invited her to try herself in modeling. She made her first steps in a modeling career in her native Berlin, where she participated in local shows. The key show for Antonia was the Escada show, which was held there in Berlin: after him, a 16-year-old German woman became interested in Ford in New York. Six months later, Anthony appeared in the Prada FW 2011 advertising campaign, and then took part in thirty-five shows.
Brenda kranz
Brenda Kranz is twenty two years old. She began her modeling career with the German equivalent of the show America's Next Top Model, from which she dropped out pretty quickly. Brenda met her luck in one of the shopping complexes of the city, where she went shopping almost immediately after losing. Six months later, Krantz set off New York, but the first season did not become stellar for her - for the most part Brenda participated in the shows of not the most famous designers. Success came after participating in the Haute Couture Week in Paris, where Krantz worked on the Valentino show, Azzedine Alaia and Elie Saab. The following season, the tall brunette took part in more than twenty shows, including Dolce & Gabbana, Zac Posen, Ann Demeulemeester and Narciso Rodriguez.
Julia Steger
Now 27-year-old Julia Steger occupies the seventeenth position in the world model rating, and in early 2000, a young basketball lover did not even think about a modeling career. It was then that she, having fun with friends at Oktoberfest, was noticed by a local agency scout. A few years later, Julia opened the Yves Saint Laurent show, and a little later, Craig McDean took it off for the brand’s advertising campaign. In the same year, Julia appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue. It seems that since then her work has not stopped for a second - she has done a lot of shows, advertising campaigns and magazine shootings. For almost ten years in modeling, Julia managed to become the face of Escada, Chloe, Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco, Sportmax, Dolce & Gabbana, Bvlgari, H & M, Tiffany and Co and a dozen more well-known brands.
Ilva Hetmann
In 2010, a red-haired girl with light blue, almost transparent eyes was sent to New York Fashion Week. “I didn’t know anything, but I was engaged every day and after the show Marc Jacobs realized that it was mine,” Ilva recalls about the beginning of her career. In addition to Marc Jacobs, in the first season, Hetmann participated in the shows of Rick Owens, Missoni and Cacharel. The following year was not too successful for Ilva: she did enough filming for magazines, but did not work at all on the show. In 2012, Ilva returned to the catwalk - during the fall-winter season she worked on the Band of Outsiders, Erdem, J.Crew show, and now participates in Berlin Fashion Week.
Lenz von Jonston
Lenz began his work in the fashion industry as a makeup artist. At one of the shootings, the photographer, who also worked at the site, took several photos of Jonston, which caught the eye of the owner of one of the Berlin agencies. In 2008, Lenz made his debut at the Prada show, then, along with Lara Stone, appeared in an advertisement for Calvin Klein, on which Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot worked. The following season, he participated in the McQ show and opened the Moschino show. Lenz several times became the face of Gucci and Mulberry, worked for GQ, V man, i-D and Vogue. In his spare time, Jonston plays hockey or tennis - he loves sports.
Paul Bohe
A German with French roots, Paul Bohe was born in the small town of Eisenach, but now, like many other models, lives in New York. We already mentioned Pole in the review about long-haired fashion models; now Bohe is on the fiftieth line of the men's world model rating, and began his career in 2006. For six years of work, he managed to collaborate with the most famous designers, including Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Ann Demeulemeester, John Galliano and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Richard Krantzin
Richard was born in Berlin, in his childhood he was fascinated by music, then he became interested in short films, and then switched to a photo that seemed more accessible to him. Kranzin began his modeling career in 2010 - the first world shows for him were the shows Dior Homme, Rick Owens, Costume National. In 2011, Richard again plunged into the photo, he became an assistant to the portrait photographer Osman Balkans, famous in Germany. Now the fair-haired young man is trying to find out the fashion industry from different sides and equally works as a photographer and as a model. Photos of Richard can be seen in his blog.
Gerrit Kramer
Gerrit Kramer hails from Hamburg. He began his modeling career in 2010, when he was seventeen. The Hamburg Mega Models also served as the parent agency for him. Already in the first season, Gerrit worked for large houses like Gucci, Costume National, Iceberg, Roberto Cavalli and Armani. Last year he participated in the Byblos advertising campaign, and the last season was not very successful for him - he appeared on the podium only once, presenting the autumn Versace collection. Like many Germans, Gerry is obsessed with football, and he plays handball well.
Robin Arens
Robin Arens’s career began last year with the opening of the Prada show, and he appeared a little later for the lookbook of this collection. The successful debut was followed by a series of shows of the most famous brands, including Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Mugler, Dries Van Noten, Louis Vuitton and others. That same year, Robin becomes the face of Y-3, Topman and YSL accessories lines. In the media, the first success of Arens is noted by L'Officiel Hommes, later photos of Robin appear in Dazed & Confused, Vogue and 10 Men. Last season was very successful for Robin and raised him to the twenty fifth level of the world ranking.
Daniel Bambad
Career Daniel Bambada began not so long ago. It is easy to see that Daniel’s body is covered with large tattoos, which have become his hallmark. More often, Babmbad can be seen in magazine shootings (by the way, one of his last shootings was work for the May issue of Interview Russia), but he also goes to the podium. This season, which was the first for Daniel, he participated in the shows of Jean Paul Gaultier and Costume National, and also appeared in the Viviene Weswood advertising campaign.
Hans Hutt
Hans Hutt was born in Liechtenstein, but began his modeling career with the German agency Mega Model, which is considered one of the best in Germany. Traditionally, most of the work for Hatta is in Paris, although in recent years he has increasingly worked in Milan and London. Hans repeatedly participated in shows Yves Saint Laurent, Dior Homme, Damir Doma, this season opened and closed the show Issey Miyake. Hutt loves football, dreams of moving to Paris, and at the request to describe himself in three words, a courageous brunette answers: "A strong and strong-willed person."
