The outdoor segment was formed as a profile clothing for practicing extreme sports and traveling around the 70s. It was then that brands like The North Face, Patagonia and Columbia appeared, which were actively engaged in technological developments in the field of equipment. On the other hand, the popularity of outdoor items is associated with the flourishing of European music festivals and the movement of post-hippies who traveled in wagons around European music platforms. Gradually, the outfits for hiking in the forest became urban, which, in general, is not surprising: functional things are also in demand during bad weather in the city. For example, in the 80s, the Paninaro movement emerged in Milan: Italian youth gathered at the Al Panino cafe in Milan, traveled on scooters and chose comfort — trekking boots, inflated vests, Ray-Ban glasses, backpacks and quilted jackets Moncler. They even had their own magazines Il Paninaro and El Cucador and Pet Shop Boys disco anthem "Paninaro".
By the end of the 2000s, autdor returned to male fashion, where it is now actively developing, replacing the passion of heritage things. And by the autumn of this year, the trend migrated to women's wardrobes.
How to wear outdoor items now
After a noticeable trend in sports, the appearance of outdoor items in women's collections looks like a continuation of a conversation about what is in demand in the wardrobe of modern girls, namely: functional and practical design, comfortable clothes and shoes, which are created, first of all, for life, and not for street style pictures. So, modern designers and brands, one after another, reinterpret such things as parks, windbreakers, hoodies, raincoats, trekking boots and rubber boots - a style that Style.com has already managed to christen glamping. All things that can be seen at visitors of any European music festival with camping, like Glastonbury, as well as a combination, for example, anorak with a silk dress, belong to glamping.
Despite the fact that the outdoor product suggests rude clothes, designers manage to add things of grace. Acne show leather anoraks with psychedelic prints and combine them with gloves and midi skirts. Marni zippered nylon coats resemble camping tents. Balenciaga shows quilted parks with neon inserts, decorated with zippers, Miu Miu - brocade jackets, hoodie hoods, transparent raincoats and trapezoid mini-skirts made of colored plastic, and also interpret rubber boots. Fendi offer luxurious pink parks.
In addition to specific things, designers work with materials and colors characteristic of the outdoor style: Christopher Kane sews half of the nylon collection, Raf Simons shows quilted dresses in the style of the 50s; patch pockets, parks and khaki things are seen in collections on all the major autumn shows from Prada and Céline to J.W. Anderson.
There are things in the style of glamping in the cruise collections of the future, 2015. Even the rather conservative Valentino show field jackets and khaki parks in combination with lace dresses.
