Product Director of Hopes & Fears Rita Popova about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week, our heroine is the product director of Hopes & Fears, Rita Popova.

My wardrobe, like myself, is work in progress. First of all, my idea of beauty is constantly changing (and it’s good that it’s, otherwise I’d still be showing off in jeans with embroidered cannabis from the 9th class), and secondly, it’s hard for me to accept my body and not spread rot self-criticism - mirrors sometimes break from my view of myself. However, I am learning to balance — look for things that I can rely on and tell stories with their help. Most often - stories about yourself.

The points of support can be counted on the fingers of one hand: it is black, Sweden (I think that in everyday clothes, as in pop music, there are no equal to the Swedes), simplicity and irony. Without the latter, you will not get far far - if you’ve gotten used to grabbing everything that you like from different cultures, you should at least be aware of this.

I do not consider myself a fashionable person, but I try to at least a little follow the industry. It seems to me that in the next few years, important changes await That's what I think: although fashion over the past ten years has ceased to be the main way of expression for young people, now it is gradually returning to its position. In my opinion, gray T-shirts speak about Mark Zuckerberg no less than his decisions and deeds, and it’s more interesting to watch Vetements than “Game of Thrones”.

Dress & Other Stories, Uniqlo sweater and socks, Acne shoes, Tiffany & Co. ring, skate hat

If I have five minutes to pack, I will dress like this. In this dress, I feel like an office ninja - no one will notice or remember how I looked or when I last changed. Ninjas, of course, prefer black, but in the Central Russian strip masking is more likely gray.

I have several Uniqlo sweaters, all are male - it seems to me that they are simpler. Specifically, this one I took from my boyfriend Jura. The dress flutters beautifully and dramatically in the wind, but has a habit of swinging open, so that sometimes you have to hold the edges with your hands. He also has a wonderful blue color.

Tiffany & Co. Ring - Jura's gift for the New Year. While I was pacing the festive fairs and choosing jewelry for the Christmas tree, Yura went for a walk and, for no reason at all, bought this ring. Outdid me, in general, with all of my garlands. Infinity is a very important symbol for me; it means the infinite possibilities and the connection between people. Acne bought boots in their outlet in Stockholm a year and a half ago - I try to go there every trip, because I don’t have money on Acne without discounts. In general, I’m a bit obsessed with Acne, they combine everything that I love: Sweden, audacity and talent. However, the main value in the photo is the nameless green hat from the skate shop, which was presented to me by my best friend. She also embroidered the word "RITA" on her hat while I was visiting her in Helsinki. If I suddenly lose my hat, return it to me, please.

Monki Top, Pants & Decoration & Other Stories, Nike Sneakers & Cap

Friends call this bow "Slim Shady", which, in my opinion, is hilariously funny. This is my second universal outfit. I pull it out of the closet if I feel bad in the morning or is swollen after the plane.

I love velvet very much and throw myself on all the velvety things, and this top also tolerates washing and wearing. This is important - I am not very good at caring for things. Wide trousers for me is a non-canonical choice, I generally assumed when buying that these were culottes, and in the end I was a little disappointed - but in them it was very comfortable.

I begged a cap from one of the best people in the world, Artem Luchko (hello!). Usually I wear pyatipanelki, a little more merciful to my honest Slavic person, but at the time of the shooting all lost them. The gold chain is my favorite and almost the only accessory, I bought it a hundred years ago at & Other Stories in Copenhagen and I never part with it. Call me Chaining Tatum!

Uniqlo T-shirt, Uniqlo x Lemaire Jacket, Monki Skirt, Ann Demeulemeester Shoes, Ring & Other Stories

Uniqlo and Monki I respect much more than the rest of the mass market. There is no need to explain anything about the first ones — remarkably simple functional things, especially the men's section. Secondly, in my opinion, the ideal ratio of price, quality and madness, and I am very impressed with their feminist orientation.

I noticed the Uniqlo x Lemaire jacket at the sale, and my boyfriend presented it to me. For me, the jacket is too serious, but such things come in handy when you need to make an impression of an IMPORTANT BOSS. My collaborations are annoyingly small - besides this there were a few things + J, but I brought them to holes (literally).

Ann Demeulemeester shoes bought in a vintage store in Berlin Garments. A dachshund barked at me on the threshold, and it is still one of the warmest memories of that trip. I hope that someday I will have a child with my foot size, who will appreciate the Belgian design, so shoes and shoes are rare.

MM6 sweater, dress and shoes - Acne, Zara hair band

That maximum gentle and girly, to which I am capable. I like the way a little gothic lace and silk look together — a bit old-fashioned, but strange.

When buying expensive items, I try to wear them as often as possible in order to reduce cost per wear and justify a purchase in my eyes. It turns out not always, and this dress is from the more replete times of evidence to that - I do not even know on whom it would sit well. Fortunately, with Acne shoes everything is different - in my opinion, this is the perfect shoe, comfortable, beautiful, black and almost velvet. This is a gift from colleagues at Look At Me.

But the MM6 sweater is universal. I bought it at Tsvetnoy - the consultant looked at him, then at me, then again at him and asked: "What do you work for?" I answered - the chief editor, and she said: "You can see it." In fact, I work Wensday Addams.

Top Club Monaco, Skirt & Other Stories, Ann Demeulemeester Shoes

This is a more comfortable outfit than it seems: if you wear black tights, which I forgot to take on the set, you can walk like this for twelve hours and look adequate in any circumstances.

I bought the top at Beacon's Closet, because in April New York the heat suddenly came and I had nothing to go to. It is simple, but it has several bribing details: a combination of fabrics (translucent shoulders and sleeves), style and a button on the back.

Skirt & Other Stories is a symbol of my little victory over the fact that I am a bore. In the store, I chose between this and “a simple skirt for every day,” and finally decided that I would wear rhinestones every day. This is one of the best decisions in life, and I advise everyone to do so.

Needle & Thread Dress, Monki Cardigan, Topshop Sandals, Acne Clutch

If I’m allowed to give one piece of advice to readers of the “Wardrobe” column, it will sound like this: “Buy items by size”. I myself do not follow this advice and never proud of it. The main reason for this is that I do not quite imagine the dimensions and coordinates of my body in space; Plus, I often promise to alter any find from the sale and never do it. Specifically, this dress sits on me well, but does not fasten on my back at all, so I put something on top and generally walk carefully.

Caftan Monki is irreplaceable - it makes better any thing you wear with it. In addition, he has a comfortable big pockets and funny floors, which you can swing when you dance.

I do not remember where the Acne clutch came from, but I like the transparency and perforation in clothes, so I really value them. The clutch is roomy, so I have to beat my hands so as not to put all my belongings there - otherwise it will swell up and down.

Carven dress, Monki bomber jacket, Prada glasses, no name decoration, Acne shoes

Not quite a characteristic silhouette for me - the dress and the bomber jacket are rather lush - but very comfortable and pleasant to the body.

I also bought a Carven dress at Beacon's Closet. I have great respect for the brand, although I cannot afford it (note - this is how I have with all the clothes I fool). His purchase is also a small victory over himself; I usually do not wear a neckline and keep to the drapes on my stomach, but this time I decided not to torment myself, not to look for flaws and buy one, I like it.

Bomber Monki - gift brand. It is very good for summer evenings. Perhaps this is the most colorful thing in my wardrobe, except for the only blue sweater with George the Victorious, like Catherine Pavelko.

Decoration found at the party "swap", which suits the great woman Alice Taezhnaya. The Village once wrote about them - the most attentive will find me in the photo. The jewel fits perfectly on the head; I somehow lost it in an empty suitcase and suffered for several months, but now we are together again.

Acne costume, Stella McCartney for adidas bomber jacket, Monki coat, Nike sneakers.

The Acne suit is big for me in three sizes, so the belt of the shorts has to be turned several times so that they do not fall. I expect that either there will be a miracle-tailor who will alter it, or I will finally undress myself. I generally like the idea of costumes, and this one also has a very beautiful print. In general, it is a pity that he does not look very good on me.

His white transparent bomber jacket was contemptuously called by his colleagues the “mosquito net”, although, in my opinion, it is wonderful and serves as a perfect second layer in summer; besides, it has pockets that are rare in women's clothes. I love pockets.

Monki's coat gave me to wear a friend. I had been searching for the usual black coat for years, but this turned out to be surprisingly difficult; almost everything that could be found was either hopelessly of poor quality or generously decorated with furniture. This coat is a bit tacky, but it suits me.

Topshop Dress, Uniqlo Socks, Dr. Boots Martens, Givenchy vintage bag, unknown brand tiara

E - eclectic! I remind myself a little of the film "Princess Diaries", which, to tell the truth, looked only in nail salons.

The dress used to belong to Julia Kimaeva, a talented designer with outstanding taste. I have a few things from her shoulder, and all are wonderful - in one dress I was even photographed for Wonderzine. I love the cuffs and the collar in this dress.

White boots Dr. Martens is a gift from the same friend who gave me a green hat and coat. To be honest, I begged them after the Nikerkoker Hospital series, my eternal love - I wanted to be like the hero Clive Owen, but not enough to study as a surgeon or abuse bad substances. In general, I like to wear boots with socks and bare legs, although this makes them look a bit like columns. But I do not care. Fair!

I bought a tiara in America in a candy store right on the day of departure. She didn’t fit in a suitcase, so I had to fly right in it - but at the inspection and check-in desk I was congratulated on my birthday (he was on another day, if that).

Bag Givenchy found in the second - it is very battered, but, in my opinion, in old things have their charm.

Zara fur coat, Acne sweatshirt, Atmosphere shirt, Alexander Wang pants, MM6 boots, Fjällräven Kånken backpack

Another interpretation on the topic of "daring student". Only this time, a cheeky schoolboy is not listening to Skepta, but, for example, PC Music, a fashionable label a couple of years ago.

A fur coat could sit better (and be whiter than that), but for her price tag she does an excellent job. Acne sweatshirt is one of the favorite and rare thing bought at full price. I remember that I bought it in 2013, when I went to the Way Out West music festival and met many of my current friends (and also saw seals). That day we walked around the city with Gosha and Katya Birger and looked at the dogs. It seems that the sweatshirt has been preserved better than me.

Trousers - forced purchase; I so desperately wore white boots from Nikerboker Hospital that I accidentally drove my knees on the asphalt and tore off the only pants that I took with me to New York. I had to buy others. MM6 boots a thousand years in the afternoon, and nothing better for walking in the rain there. A shirt is another find from a swap, hearts are embroidered on its collar; she is very romantic and beautiful, i like it.

There is nothing better in the world than my boyfriend (he himself asked for this edit) and Fjällräven Kånken backpacks - these are the most spacious, comfortable and beautiful backpacks. And yes, I like the way they get old and get dirty: there is something awkward about the new “Konkens” - although I honestly admit that I chose a backpack more decently for shooting, without a huge hole in my pocket.

Vintage clip and decoration for neck, ring & Other Stories

My ears are not pierced: firstly, I am afraid of pain, and secondly, I do not see the point. I, on the contrary, love and wear clips and cuffs more often, but it is very difficult to find them. The best choice I saw was in Berlin Garments, from where I left with this couple. I wear them one by one: if I lose, it will not be so offensive.

Circle on a chain - one of the most favorite jewelry. I was given it by an elderly woman, the owner of a vintage store in Stockholm, to the burden of a leather backpack bought from her. That was seven years ago.

Zara hair ornament

Since my haircut has not changed for five years, I don’t feed me with bread - let me put something on my head. Most often I use necklaces on ribbons and strings for this purpose, in my opinion, so they look much better.

Zara bag

I do not really like the bags, but the craving for the transparent outweighed. As a child, I loved to present myself as a heroine of cinema and imagined that cameras were watching my life — now you can really get an idea of it by looking at a minute and a half at the contents of this bag.
