Johnny Depp can go to prison for 10 years because of dogs
Johnny Depp can be put in prison for 10 years because he illegally drove two of his Yorkshire terriers to Australia, where they are shooting the next part of "Pirates of the Caribbean". The actor drove the dogs on his private plane, bypassing the mandatory veterinary control procedure, and thus violated the law of the country. On Monday, the Australian federal parliament held a hearing at which it was announced that if Depp was charged, he faces up to 10 years in prison or a fine of 340,000 Australian dollars (more than thirteen million rubles). The pilot of the aircraft in this case faces up to two years in prison. In parliament, the situation was called "very serious."
The Australian authorities have paid attention to Depp's dogs after pictures appeared on social networks, in which the actor leads his pets to a local canine hairdresser. Then the authorities warned Depp that his dogs would be put to sleep if they were not taken out of the country within two days. After that, Depp's wife Amber Heard took the animals back to the United States. "If we allow movie stars - even if they twice became the sexiest of living people - to come to our country to break the law, then why shouldn't others start doing the same thing?" - commented on the situation the Minister of Agriculture of Australia Barnaby Joyce.
