About aging
Every year the theme of facial care excites me more and more. I am afraid of aging prematurely. Not that I'm afraid of old age, no, stately ladies at the age and men with their eternal accessory - a beard - look very much. But I don’t want to grow old ahead of time at all. I hit my hands if in the morning or in the evening I forget to apply a moisturizer for face and eyes. In general, with the care of trouble, but I actively train myself. To grow old, but beautiful.
About the decision to become a makeup artist
One fine moment, as a student of art school, I realized that I was tired of drawing a face every time when I wanted to capture not so much his features as his image. While drawing from life, I often slightly changed the facial features of the models: I did a hint of cheekbones, I slightly reduced my nose, I drew my eyelashes more thickly. The models were delighted with the portraits - they seemed to have makeup - and the teachers scolded.
To be honest, I never thought about working as a makeup artist, did not think about who I want to work with. I just wanted to draw. On paper, on cloth, on one's hand, on people — it doesn't matter. The decisive factor in choosing a profession was the fact that in Russia artists are not in demand at all, this is a money-less (just here!) Profession. Somehow on Look At Me, I read an article about my favorite show RuPaul's Drag Race, where the journalist wrote, they say, makeup artists are new artists. Well, here is the development of my artistic career.
About beauty blogs and public opinion
I do not like many Russian bloggers. Sometimes with them there is a feeling that you are standing in a cheap cosmetic store, where a consultant is trying with all her might to buy this or that unnecessary product. Is that sometimes follow the news on posts Beauty Insider and Sergey Ostrikova.
I am self-taught and reviewed a huge number of tutorials at the beginning of my career. But all these videos will not help if you do not have the opportunity to practice. Beginners need to paint a lot, almost everyone, and in different ways, and most importantly - to analyze the result of their work. Did he do it right, how could it be otherwise, better, cleaner and faster.
I love creamy textures, they are much more plastic and practical. If the client has problem skin or elementary fluff on the face, dry products can be bad, stained. And with creamy textures this happens very rarely, the main thing is to fix them. I also have a mania for lipstick, I love to focus on the lips. And the highliders, the face should shine, because # highlightersnews.
I sometimes offer clients lipstick a tone brighter than they use. I like to knock people out of their comfort zone, give them more confidence and give them the opportunity to analyze how they should look, and not how society will react. Who cares about society?
