In the service of Her Majesty: Cosmetics for the Anglophiles

AUTHOR BLOGA Fierce & Cute Once a week, Moore Sobolev makes for us a thematic selection of products from his extensive collection of cosmetics. Cosmetics has come into today's one, which in one way or another - by color, fragrance or name - is associated with Albion.

Nails Nails Inc. Belgrave place

All the varnishes of this excellent British brand are named after the London places and streets. I have several of them, but Belgrave Place is especially dear to me - firstly, it is of a very beautiful color (dark blue-violet - I like these shades, despite the fact that they hate being photographed and to show them in a blog, you need to jump over head), and secondly, for sentimental reasons: I bought this varnish on my first trip to London three years ago.

Lipstick dior londres

I love Dior Addict lipstick very much, and it seems that in this section I have not had a chance to admit it. This is one of the most successful balsam lipsticks, created on the wave of the popularity of such textures: Addict perfectly lies and looks, moisturizes lips (mine, at least), and the shades are pigmented enough to avoid feeling that you bought expensive hygienic lipstick. Hue Londres calm beige-plum, successfully balancing on the verge of "noticeable, but neutral."

Comb Tangle Teezer Union Jack

The famous comb is popular for good reason: despite the fact that I have short hair, I hate combing with anything else. Tangle Teezer is known for not tearing hair and unraveling it neatly and gently - indeed, and compared to it, all other hair brushes seem coarse and vicious. I have a classic Tangle Teezer, but usually I use the compact version - it is more convenient to lie in my small palm and very pretty, because it is decorated with a British flag print: this English brand has the tagline Proudly Made In Great Britain.

Uslu Airlines LGW nail polish

In a strange way, we are not happy with Uslu Airlines brand, which makes nail polishes, glitters and lipsticks dedicated to airports in different countries, does not have a means that would be called in honor of London Heathrow’s main airport (by the way, I have Nails Inc.). But there is a varnish bearing the name of the smaller and, as I always thought, more awkward Gatwick - a silver LGW with sparkles. Varnish belongs to the new series of the USL brand, where the varnishes are presented in high thin bottles - I, however, prefer their classic form.

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Scent

The most girlish of all aromas is Jo Malone - which does not interfere (and perhaps even helps) his popularity. I don’t like pear or freesia, but even two unfriendly components do not turn English Pear & Freesia into something nasty and sweet-supermarket - this is a gentle, airy, princess fragrance, not devoid, despite lightheartedness, strict British nobility, which marked all the work of the brand. Such fruit eau de toilette is useful to have even gloomy personalities on the farm, besides Jo Malone provides room for combinations.

Eyeko London Places Soho Lip Gloss

Probably, I am writing about the discontinued means of this ridiculous British brand more than it should, but it turns out that a lot of my Eyeko collection of tools fits the themes of these collections. Even before visiting London for the first time, I ordered the entire collection of London Lips lip glosses - mostly for the sweet design (the tubes are decorated with tiny London emblems, and it doesn't look right, but touching) and the name. Each of the six highlights is named for the London area - I like the hot pink Soho the most.

Blush MAC Brit Wit

Cream blush MAC intelligent neutral beige-pink shade. They are completely matte, so that they can be done the most accurate in the world of sculpture - just emphasize the cheekbones, without being exposed to the danger of looking, as if wriggled in a mud face. MAC updated the cream blush formula three years ago, and now they are applied and shaded very perfectly - they have a soft and plastic texture without excessive fluidity. You can use a brush, but it is more convenient for me to apply this blush with your fingers - then it takes less than a minute.

Varnish Mavala Racing Green

The color racing green, which is also british racing green, which is often called simply “British green” in Russia, was originally the color of the national racing team of Great Britain, and sports sports jaguars and Aston martin are often painted in it. Automotive history experts argue about the specifics of the shade, but Pantone (and the fashion industry behind it) call the color racing green deep mossy green. In Mavala lacquer, it is just that - a dark noble shade.

Lipstick Chanel English Rose

Strange, but this is probably the only remedy with the common phrase english rose in my collection. The brand produced a varnish with the same name (and I also have it), but more than it, I love this lipstick from the ancient Hydrabase series, which was later replaced by Rouge Coco. Gentle warm pink shade with a small shimmer, which will really look perfect on a girl of the appropriate type - the notorious “English rose”. I'm not at all she, but I like it too.

Penhaligon's Jubilee Bouquet Fragrance

These spirits were released in 1977, on the silver jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II - just at the time that the famous ship with the Sex Pistols was on board on the Thames. The aroma itself is the quintessence of all English: it is a strict, elegant and old-fashioned floral chypre, one of those that must be “worn”, while avoiding a particularly complex face. As an exquisite postmodern gesture, I like to listen to the song "God Save The Queen", with Jubilee Bouquet, I think the brand creators would have liked that.
