Each of us has a story about how we learned what menstruation is. Modern girls may soon be able to tell what they found out through a board game. Two years ago, students of the Rhode Island School of Design, Daniel Hilsans and Ryan Murphy, came up with The Period Game as part of a university project. Now they are looking for partners in order to organize the production of the product. The goal of the game is to help ensure that the topic of menstruation, associated with a mass of stereotypes in society, does not evoke shame on the young generation.

“When I was in the fifth grade and our teacher asked us to sing the word“ vagina ”as loudly as possible, I was a little embarrassed,” says the creator of the game, Daniela. “Until recently, I didn’t realize how lucky I was to study in such an environment and reason out loud about things that are not talked about. " A sensible approach, devoid of awkwardness, Hilsans brought to The Period Game. In it, players scroll plastic ovaries until a ball rolls out of the hole at the bottom of the uterus (of course, also plastic). Three of the four balls are transparent and allow players to move further in a circle, and the fourth, red, translates immediately to the next section with monthly. Along the way, players get cards from which they learn about the nature of the menstrual cycle and various hygiene products.
