Golden color in the autumn-winter collections

How it all began

Obviously, in history, gold was a sign of wealth and nobility. So, in the era of the British Queen Elizabeth gold was worn by people who were allowed a special law. Golden has a religious meaning: in Christianity it is the color of God's chosen people, which the Italian duo Dolce & Gabbana does not forget about, who from season to season releases girls in gold dresses and ornaments with crosses made of gold on the catwalk. Golden is one of the main associative symbols of the East, which is not the first season quoted by Albert Elbaz and Ralph Lauren.

In the 1980s, gold prices are rising and falling rapidly. But the golden color becomes one of the features of the kitsch of the 80s: the musician Lloyd Johnson and Naomi Campbell is dressed from head to toe on the cover of American Vogue with equal success. The main adherent of gold, Gianni Versace, exploits this color to death in 1997: Versace models flash in campaigns in overalls of gold brocade and bomber jackets and skirts of golden silk with multi-colored patterns (in such it is easy to imagine MIA, who recently created a collection for the younger sister Versace, Versus). Golden becomes a landmark for other Homes, such as Gucci and Moschino.

How to wear a gold color now

Pay attention to the shade of gold: Antonio Marras, for example, shows a classic shade, and Gucci - its mixture with bronze and yellow. Gold may be the first dress - made of leather, like Prada, or in sequins, like Marc Jacobs. Olivier Rusten, designer of the French brand Balmain, shows a gold suit inspired by the 1980s, and Kenzo, thinking of Asian countries like Vietnam and Thailand, shows almost round-shaped jackets and asymmetrical skirts of gold from jacquard. Of course, most designers position gold as a color for the evening, and therefore combine gold items with boats. But we live with you in 2013, so even at events with an elegant dress code we suggest wearing gold with shoes on a flat run, like running shoes.

BEWARE!

Like any type of metallic gold is an incredibly complex color and you need to wear it extremely carefully. Do not add gold to the usual everyday bow: the exception is accessories or shoes, which in this case must be concise. But for the evening, you can choose at least a golden total bow: a very light version - a dress in sequins, a little more complicated - a suit made of gold-covered cotton. But, as you understand, such things suggest monophonic laconic bags and shoes.
