nine.coma is a young collective Russian instagram, in which one artist draws a dream every week: sometimes his own, but more often someone’s. Publish them from Monday to Thursday, necessarily at night. It is important that the dream is always real, recorded earlier in the diary or seen the day before. "Author" of sleep writes a storyboard for the artist, that is, he becomes a full-fledged screenwriter. Each episode begins with a black and white frame of the sleeping hero and continues in color (there can be 9, 12 or 15 pictures in total) - this is how reality and fiction are separated. Frames accompany the signature, it turns out the comic; sometimes several pictures add up to one big one, like in dream # 7. Our favorite of the published drew film critic Nailya Golman after the sleep of journalist Mikhail Levin - where he drags a meteorite out of the water and thinks about the vanity of everything.
The project was invented by Esquire Digital Director Daniel Trabun and Parallel Comics founder Maxim Chumin. “Maxim loves comics since childhood, and I record dreams since childhood. I have long wanted to tell someone: in the form of either an exhibition or a VKontakte public,” says Daniel. “But Maxim could not try on the instascomics medium on some specific stories. So it all came together. The name came up quickly, it reminds me of the game Yume Nikki about hickey, lost in dreams. " As the authors of nine.coma note, no one systematically uses this kind of mechanic of storytelling in instagram: "There are individual artists and illustrators who thus conduct their instagram, but there is rather a plot-less (incredibly beautiful) illustration.
