Raphaëlla Riboud Silk Pajamas
IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. Our heroine this week is Rafaella Ribou, an employee of Dior and Ralph Lauren, who decided to create silk pajamas under her own name.
Not so long ago, Wonderzine held a costume party at Strelka: we offered to dress up in pajamas, which, thanks to the Céline and Marni brands, became the subject of everyday clothes. Now, silk blouses and trousers are being bought not only from designers who include them in catwalk collections, but also from original brands of home wear like Hilditch & Key or Poplin. Recently, a similar brand was founded by Frenchwoman Rafaella Ribou. She creates pajamas in monochrome colors - lemon, blue and white, and also produces sets with a print in the form of the sun. Now the last warm days are coming, so you can wear such silk pajamas outside, and in the fall you can replace evening dresses and suits with it.
Rafaella Ribu was born in 1979. She traveled a lot - so that can be considered a real cosmopolitan. In 2002, Ribou settled in London and began working for the Tatler magazine team, and a couple of years later became the editor of the British version of Vogue. In 2007, the girl travels back to her native Paris and is hired by the Ralph Lauren branch in France. A little later, the girl goes to Dior, where for three years "she learns to work until she achieves a perfect result." In 2012, Ribou launches her own line of home wear, Private Wear, which she created because she couldn’t find the perfect pajamas. Since then, the collections of the girl fell in love with both the editors of Elle and Vogue, and large concept stores like the Collette and KM20.
I love the fashion industry with all my heart. Five years of work in the Condé Nast publishing house made me a very perfectionist. During the years of observing trends, I realized that clothes should be relaxed and luxurious - I adore the perfect cut and expensive fabrics. Such things are outside the time frame and are suitable for everyone. I created a brand of home clothes because I could not find something elegant for the house. The gap between the quality of my daily outfits and what I used to walk around the apartment was simply huge, which was unfair. Guests often came to me, so I wanted to look the best I could. I dream that pajamas become classics of the future.
