Beyonce on the historical cover of American Vogue

Last week, Condé Nast denied rumors about the imminent departure of its art director and editor-in-chief of Vogue US Anna Wintour, and now the magazine has presented a historical cover of a September issue, authored by a 23-year-old photographer Tyler Mitchell, who previously collaborated with Marc Jacobs and Givenchy, as well as iD, Teen Vogue.

The heroine of the cover was Beyonce. Earlier it was reported that Wintour gave her "unprecedented control" over the shooting process - so the singer decided to invite Mitchell to cooperate. "It is very important for me to open the doors to young artists. Today there are so many cultural and social barriers, so I want to do everything in my power to equalize the rules of the game, to let those who feel that their voices do not matter," - says the singer.

The shooting was styled by the former fashion director of the publication Tonn Goodman, who had previously announced her departure from Vogue US (Goodman will continue to cooperate with the magazine, but as a contributor).
