Rhombus sweaters

Every season a new sweater model captures the catwalks. Variants with the Scandinavian ornament, pigtails and large knitting have already been repeated many times, but now it is the turn of jackets with diamonds. Interestingly, classic argyle can only be found in the Victoria Beckham collection, since the rest of the designers decided to experiment with the color and shape of the print. For example, Ashley Williams presented models in acid yellow and green shades, on Molly Goddard things diamonds stretched out horizontally, and in the Pringle of Scotland collection the pattern more resembled a checkerboard. Another example is Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

Puff sleeves

Neo-romanticism has taken a strong place in the collections of many designers - this time the main detail was the voluminous puff sleeves, reminiscent of the dresses of aristocrats of the first half of the XIX century (remember the picture of Karl Bryullov "Horsewoman" of that very period). They look spectacular on dresses of very different lengths, cut and color - on everyday ones like Ashley Williams, on semi-sports like Asai evening dresses like Christopher Kane, or on hyperbolic princess outfits like Molly Goddard. But this, of course, is not limited to everything: for example, Burberry was complemented with a woolen corset with such sleeves, JW Anderson with a classic raincoat, and Roksanda with an oversized blouse. Not less interesting examples can be found in Simone Rocha, Emilia Wickstead, Pringle of Scotland and many others.

Fringe

Basic monophonic things will look more interesting if you decorate them with fringe. And on knitwear, decor looks especially harmonious, naturally continuing the collar, sleeves or print. So, a strict cardigan JW Anderson is completely made of yarn, similar to the "weed", from which knitted fluffy sweaters in the 90s. The Fashion East fringed top also refers to the popular models of the 90s and early 2000s, but the elongated sweater Ports 1961 resembles animal skins thanks to the animal pattern and the decor in the form of threads. In the case of Asai, the fringe gives things a deliberate untidiness.

Dress with trousers

Designers have long been trying to fit this combination into our wardrobes, but it’s impossible to say that it’s boring: thanks to the many styles, you can invent new combinations indefinitely. The easiest way is to wear a long tunic with straight pants. Brands love to combine midi dresses with flared models, and things can be both close shades and contrasting. Look for examples from JW Anderson, Eudon Choi, A.W.A.K.E. Mode, Ports 1961 and others.

Huge brooches

If you once acquired such an accessory, then this is a great reason to reanimate it. Designers put brooches of all kinds on sweaters, coats, oversized suits and minimalistic dresses - you really don’t need to limit imagination. For example, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi presented a romantic accessory with ribbons resembling the straps of a backpack or parachute, and Christopher Kane's brooch is like a belt buckle. Massive jewelery also appeared in the JW Anderson and Wales Bonner collections.

Inflated and quilted things

With the onset of cold weather I want to immediately try on everything that is blown and quilted. Jackets, more reminiscent of jackets, dresses and skirts that look like cozy bedspreads, vests, scarves — there was plenty to choose from in London week. So, in the collection of Mary Katrantzou you can find puffed-up trousers in a cage, which may well become part of a business wardrobe. Molly Goddard showed quilted dresses and a skirt, perfectly combined with tight jumpers and sweaters. Marta Jakubowski presented a bleak coat jacket, and at the Roksanda show you can see quilted vests and shawls. In all images there is only one such thing, but nothing prevents you from dressing up in an inflated total bow.

Unusual hats

Fantasy hats have become a hit of London Fashion Week. One of the most memorable were jockey leather caps JW Anderson, which did not completely cover the heads of the models. Asai showed hats, reminiscent of medieval hats. Huge fur headphones and hats of the British Guards could be found at the Ryan Lo show. Balaclava with bunny ears, caps and a parrot stuffed cap appeared in the Fashion East collection. And Emilia Wickstead is limited to knitted caps, resembling the headgear of the heroines of the series "The Handmaid's Tale".

Corset

We do not tire of repeating that fashion is cyclical, and therefore the return to the podiums of corsets is not at all surprising. Perhaps this item has become one of the most popular at London Fashion Week - it was shown by Asai, Matty Bovan, Toga, Chalayan and others. Most designers have forgotten about the classic options that resemble underwear, and made models in a strict and restrained style. Minimum details, straight cut and no accents on the chest. Only Burberry and Simone Rocha stand out from the list above.

Different textures in one thing

Things that combine several materials are always distinguished in the collection due to the asymmetry and difference of textures. If you want something unusual, but wearable, it is better not to find an option. For example, in dresses and skirts Simone Rocha, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Matty Bovan combine wool, silk, viscose, lace, cotton, brocade and other fabrics of various colors.

Very long pants

Not the most practical thing, especially for those who have a lot of walking on foot in autumn and winter. And yet, designers continue, from season to season, to create very long pants, of both flared and straight styles, which almost completely hide shoes. The brands do not have one favorite model - in the latest collections you can see both strict gray trousers, and flying variants with Lurex, and a bright costume version, and silk palazzo. Examples are House of Holland, JW Anderson, Emilia Wickstead, Halpern, Ports 1961 and many others.
