Collezioni fashion editor Ira Dubina about favorite outfits
FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE"we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week, our heroine is Collezioni fashion editor-in-chief Ira Dubina. She spoke about the advantages of online shopping, conscious consumption of things, love for young designers and the eternity of thick magazines.
To the realization that I am really close in terms of fashion, I came relatively recently. I was winding in different directions until I realized that the surest way to find my style was to observe, accumulate information and create something of my own on its basis. Unless, of course, you have such a goal. I speak not only about visual references from magazines and websites, but also about cinema, music, books, art. In addition, more recently, I was inspired with the idea of "choosing carefully and buying less, but better." Now, instead of a dozen skirts or blouses, I buy one cool thing, even if it will be more expensive. Such a purchase is more than a consumerist reflex. I also love young and unskilled designers, because often their things are really unique and more valuable because they carry a strong emotional charge. At the same time, I treat things simply and do not wear accessories or jewelry. They bother me. I love self-sufficient things from the category "put on - went."
Almost all of my wardrobe is purchased in the online space: no need to spend time shopping, the assortment is much wider, you can compare prices, follow the runoff non-stop. Many still prefer offline and waiting for a moment to “spark a spark” between them and the thing. Come on! These are just things, you choose not your husband.
Proenza Schouler sweatshirt, Zara shorts, Nike sneakers
I love embroidery and appliqués, so I fell in love with this sweatshirt at first sight. I waited for him on sales, but even with the discounts, he was unpardonably expensive, and then turned out to be sold out. A year later, he found it in the drains of the American version of The Outnet. True, the delivery was only in the USA. I had to ask friends from New York to order at your address, and then transfer to Moscow. The story has a happy ending - me and the sweatshirt are together now.
I love boyish-style. In a similar image I feel much more womanly, than in a dress and on heels. Bermuda shorts are a great alternative to boring regular shorts. I wear them literally with everything. I'm a fan of hip-hop, so buying a Nike Air Force was a matter of time. Sneakers like for bulkiness. In addition, they fit everything: from ordinary jeans to a two-piece suit.
Opening Ceremony dress, Puma sneakers
Somehow I got the idea that I want a dress in Victorian style, although this is not at all my topic. While surfing online, I stumbled upon this perfect Opening Ceremony dress. It was my fastest purchase, it took less than 15 seconds to press the "add to cart" button.
I needed basic sneakers for every day. I first thought about adidas Stan Smith, but they too quickly became replicated. Never paid attention to Puma, but these sneakers are great.
LES 'suit, Zara sandals
Lesya Paramonova is my good friend and a very talented designer of the brand LES ', in which she creates not just clothes, but the whole world around the brand, which is very rare today. This costume is absolutely my thing. Beautiful fabrics - my weakness, and here silk with embroidery, as well as the correct cut and unreal blue color.
I rarely buy shoes in the mass market. Not out of snobbery, but because cheap and poor-quality shoes cause endless suffering to my feet. However, with these sandals lucky. I can not only stand in them, but also walk and, on occasion, even dance.
Untitled dress and bag, Levi's jacket, Nike sneakers
The dress and bag were discovered in the London Urban Outfitters on the Oxford Circus. where there is a department of vintage things. The selection there is not the most outstanding, but there are interesting finds. This dress is actually a nightie, but as they say, who cares. I do not like bags. There would be an opportunity, would go without them. Such a belt bag is the most convenient option, put on and forgotten. By the way, he organizes coolly: size does not allow taking with him any unnecessary trash - only the most necessary. "The jacket of the homeless," as I lovingly call her, I found on the clothing market in Pattaya during a trip with my beloved girlfriend a couple of years ago. The jacket cost about 100 rubles, and I have not seen anything better than this jeans.
Marques'Almeida dress, Nasir Mazhar backpack, Puma sneakers
Marques'Almeida - very cool guys. If you have not heard of them, check it out. I am glad that, despite the fact that Marques'Almeida made a name for themselves in denim, they are not obsessed with this topic. For example, their latest collection is built on knitwear, silk and velvet. This dress made of pure white denim is one of the favorite things in the wardrobe: to the feast, to the world, and for Style.com street style (just a moment of boasting, I'm sorry).
I was looking for my perfect backpack for a long time, until I found this fashionable guy, Nazir Mazhar. I bought not because of the name, but because the backpack is really cool. Everything is laconic in it, but the beaded fringe adds "raisins".
H & M top, Zara pants, Marni sandals
I love the mass market, but I treat it carefully. It seems to me that in democratic stores it is worthwhile to avoid frankly fashionable and trendy things that will nag in a couple of months. It’s best to buy something neutral — but not necessarily a classic base like a pencil skirt or a blazer. A good example is these "shirshtans" (as my friend calls them). They cost a little, do not look like a thing from the mass market and will definitely last for a long time.
The best sandals in the world - definitely Marni, the most comfortable and beautiful. These "orthopedic" sandals, of course, an absolute antisex, but, seriously, the best shoes, my feet did not know.
Top H & M, Topshop jeans, Prada shoes
Here everything is as I like: shorter from the top, and the waist taller. Previously, jeans were my permanent uniform, but recently I almost stopped wearing them. Except for the mom jeans model. Very much they look stupid, and I like it - such a hello from the 80s.
I am a master of sales and never buy things of serious brands at full value. First, it is illogical to give crazy grandmas for rags. Secondly, only after several months have you been able to determine precisely whether you want this thing, really you like it or you act from the principle “everyone ran - and I ran”. Prada shoes from the fall / winter 2010 season were waiting for me on my beloved Yoox and cost a little more than 200 bucks. They are absolutely ridiculous and strange, but I adore such things. Wore so far for once, but we still zatusuem.
Christopher Kane Dress, Puma Sneakers
British designer Christopher Kane is my greatest love ever. He is an absolute genius. For each of his work - an incredible amount of ideas and concepts. Looking at his collection, you see that behind it is an incredible creative process. Christopher Kane - sample design. During the last trip to London I was lucky to get on its sample sale. However, when I went inside, the juice had already been snapped up. Without a purchase, I, of course, could not leave and took a sweater and this dress. Although it is "princess", I like to wear it with sneakers: it would look too trite with heels.
Jenia Kim dress sweater, Dr. boots. Martens
I consider Eugene Kim one of the most talented young designers. Here again, it is appropriate to talk about how important it is that the design was thought. Eugene is inspired by a traditional Asian costume, and she manages to express this idea not theatrically, but modernly. At the same time, she does not simplify her task and is not afraid of complicated applications, finishes, and embroidery, as on this sweater. Seriously, it seems to me that it is such things that are worth spending on them, and not promoted luxury brands.
These party shoes in glitter ordered at Urbanoutfitters.com. As a result, they came with the mark "mens" and were two sizes larger than mine. Just think! Passed in them all winter and early spring. They are already pretty worn out, but they didn’t become less loved.
Perfume Maison Martin Margiela Replica
These are the first perfumes that I bought myself. Usually enjoyed the gift and those that I get for free from our department "Beauty." I like unusual odors, for example, with notes of leather. This perfume may seem trivial: there is burnt sugar, musk - but there is something attractive about it. I can not understand what it is. He is strange, but I love everything strange.
Magazine collection
Today a lot of talk about the imminent extinction of the printed press. For me, all this is rubbish. I’m sure there will be thousands more of bookworms like me, which no digital platform can replace the buzz from scrolling through live pages. Every time I bring a ton of bricks from London: thick magazines and fashion books are my great love. Never feel sorry for them for money. LOVE Magazine and AnOther Magazine are always cool shots. Tank likes the fact that he writes far not only about "fashion is my profession", but on various topics: from modern science to social problems. Another of the favorite "trendy" books is "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster." I strongly advise.
