What will be fashionable in six months: 10 trends from New York
Summing up shows held in the framework of the Fashion Week in New York. In this material - 10 trends from the show, which we will adapt to your wardrobe throughout this year. However, no one bothers to do it right now.
Jackets deliberately large size can be the main hits of the next season. Designers offer a lot of options, how and with what to wear them, but each of them will easily fit into a daily wardrobe. Alexander Wang has a strict jacket combined with leggings, and Victoria Beckham - with chiffon skirts and turtlenecks. The Row created an androgynous image thanks to a dimensionless suit, and Calvin Klein played on contrasts of a gray jacket and a bright skirt.
Pointed shoes come back in triumph and in the next season will become an attribute not only of strict images for office work. Designers offer to wear such ankle boots and shoes mainly with romantic or minimalist dresses. White, lacquered, with rivets, wide straps, suede - a variety of models found in Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez, Delpozo, Gabriela Hearst and many others.
We did not have time to adapt the wearing of corsets and wide belts to the coat to create a V-silhouette, as the designers returned the straight cut to the runways. Now they turn to the image of a business woman, with a reference to power dressing. Their heroine wears an oversized coat, combining it with wide trousers, blouses and jackets. It is noteworthy that both Michael Kors and Calvin Klein combined such outerwear with pointed shoes. Victoria Beckham has created a multi-layered image: under the coat is almost not visible light dress, worn over wide trousers. On the example of past shows, it seems that most designers decided to take a break from redundancy, returning to minimalism.
Bleklaja winter is not over yet, as we are already reminded of the following. However, with the right combination and winter gray looks fresh. He is a perfect pair of white and black, but to make the look more interesting, you can complement tweed things with leather: boots, handbag and large belt, as was done at the Michael Kors show. The more interesting textures, the better. With the gray tweed will be well contrasted and red, even if it is made only a small detail - for example, on shoes, as was the case with Calvin Klein. An interesting life hack can be peeped at Alexander Wang: a tweed jacket over jeans is a multi-layered look for the cold season.
Along with straight and free silhouettes, designers offer to tighten almost any clothes with long straps. It is desirable in a few turns and so that the end of the belt hung at least to the thigh. Some designers complemented such straps with leather dresses like Proenza Schouler, others with woolen coats like The Row, and knit dresses like Tibi. Great models look great, although this is a matter of taste. The main thing is to remember that thin belts in several layers can look like drawn laces.
The trend for flashy shades is traditional for spring-summer collections, but this time the designers seem to have decided to add color to the wardrobe during the cold season. Past shows confirm that absolutely everything in the image - shoes, trousers, blouse, fur coat, accessories - can be "worn out eyes". Even if you do not decide on such a move in everyday life, the bow can be disassembled as a puzzle and combine rich colors (for example, pink with red, blue with green, orange with violet) only in two things. So did Derek Lam and Gabriela Hearst. While Sies Marjan and Monse showed ruthless brightness.
The trend for elegant materials continues - now the palm is moving from velvet to satin. Designers decided to make almost the entire wardrobe out of it by making flying dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers from this difficult-to-care material. The scatter is also in colors: Sies Marjan and Monse are bright blue and yellow, Gabriela Hearst has mustard, Narciso Rodriguez and Tibi have metallic and gold. A fringe, which this season has also been shown in several collections, will be a good addition to satin items.
During New York week, designers experimented a lot with sleeves: here and things with one open shoulder (this trend was chosen last season), and lantern sleeves with ruffles, which were found in many collections regardless of the time of year, and just voluminous shoulders. The latter will remain as a logical continuation of the trend for the 80s, which clearly declared itself in the spring-summer season. There is no doubt that the mass market will certainly take it into service, therefore we advise you to get a blouse or shirt with voluminous sleeves for spring with an eye to wear it all year. If you still worry that the image will be too extravagant, look at the collections of Tory Burch and Tibi, which look quite everyday.
Midi skirts are good because the winter with warm tights in them is not cold, and in the warm season, if the material allows, they can be combined with anything. Carolina Herrera suggest wearing a midi skirt in the most canonical way: with a white shirt and black shoes. Jil Sander Navy, who looks like a Japanese outfit, turned out to have triangular assemblies on a jacket - it will fit to the classic flare skirt. Another universal option is a suit: a skirt and a jacket made of tweed or wool. As soon as it gets warmer, you can add prints, sneakers and leather jackets to such things.
The concept of seasonality is completely outdated. According to the weather or not, the designers suggest wearing light dresses and floral print skirts next autumn and winter. To match the outfit with time, Altuzarra added long leather gloves and massive boots with lacing, Delpozo added bulk sweaters, and Coach 1941 adds woolen boots and a short jacket. These dresses combine well with massive sheepskin coats and huge down jackets, large fur hats and massive boots. The most important thing is the game on contrasts, which designers have demonstrated at New York week.
