Overhead collars
Next season, designers are proposing to add a new accessory to the wardrobe — overhead collars. Including we are talking about modern analogues of the mill, only less luxuriant and complex. Brock Collection and Tory Burch showed examples of discreet models - they were combined on the catwalk with jackets and simple sweaters. Others remembered school collar or extravagant feather boas, which can be worn with classic or pajama suits. Examples are Maryam Nassir Zadeh and Sies Marjan.
Tai-dai
A tai-dye print appeared on the runways a couple of seasons ago. Designers liked the idea of customized clothes, although - let's be honest - such “unique” models have become ubiquitous long ago. All this does not prevent things from looking cool, especially since each brand interprets the pattern in its own way. At Maryam Nassir Zadeh, he appeared on tights and even a down jacket, on Collina Strada - on T-shirts and sweatshirts, and the Area was completely t-shirt skirt with frills and a top with rhinestones. Kim Shui offered tight-fitting dresses, and Prabal Gurung offered sweaters. We feel this is not the end.
Dress combinations
One of the most enduring trends. Although the combination dresses are becoming more sophisticated with each season, they still look great with mules and oversized cardigans. Brands meanwhile offer new combinations. For example, Collina Strada showed a model made of different texture materials, which was supplemented with massive sneakers. Jonathan Simkhai proposed to wear classic silk dresses over thinnest turtlenecks or wide trousers, and Sies Marjan appeared to be in agreement with him. And Michael Kors Collection remembered the style of the 20s, adding feathers to the combination dress.
Black and white text
The new version of the classic combination of black and white colors: reminiscent of the popular strip, but it looks much more interesting. So, Jeremy Scott devoted an entire collection to a print from the text, complementing it with black and white hairstyles of models in the manner of Cruella De Ville. Longchamp presented black and white jackets and trousers - on the catwalk they were combined with things in “animal” prints. Even more examples of fresh patterns are in Area and Rodarte.
Knitted total bows
I want to dress up in everything warm and cozy all year round: there is no reason to rely on the weather. Designers understand this and offer to pay attention to monochrome combinations of long skirts, sweaters and even shorts next autumn, complementing them with shawls, gloves and leggings. The color scheme can be any, and yet the favorite shades of the week are beige and gray. Examples include Self-Portrait, Brock Collection, Gabriela Hearst, Michael Kors Collection and Oscar de la Renta.
Torn things
Things with decorative holes, cuts and a scorched edge often appear on the catwalks, however, at this Fashion Week, deliberately untidy details were literally everywhere. For example, thanks to a slotted sweater, Proenza Schouler had a spectacular multi-layered image, the cut hem of a Kim Shui dress imitated a fringe, and the Eckhaus Latta sweater with cross holes was proposed to be worn on a bare body. You can follow the example of Zadig & Voltaire, wearing a transparent top with rhinestones or from a mesh under a holey sweater.
Things on one shoulder
This trend seems to have moved into the category of timeless classics, like a cell and a strip. It does not matter what time the designers turned to - the dresses and blouses on one shoulder can be found in every second collection. At the 3.1 Phillip Lim show, for example, they presented laconic one-sleeve tops that are easy to imagine in everyday wardrobe. The same goes for Eckhaus Latta, who showed a cozy terry mini-dress with one strap. But at Self-Portrait and Oscar de la Renta turned out classic overalls, tops and dresses with frills, opening shoulders.
Asymmetrical jacket
If classic jackets and blazers are bored, choose a model with an asymmetrical cut or made from different materials - such are shown by Jonathan Simkhai, Calvin Luo and Proenza Schouler. They diversify office wardrobe and harmoniously fit into the everyday. The main thing to remember: any conditionally "unusual" clothing can be boring in the same way as the basic one.
Grange
Global nostalgia for the 90th continues, and the designers are again turning to the grunge. The forerunner of the return of this style was the reprinted collection of Mark Jacobs for Perry Ellis, which the designer created in 1992. At the last Fashion Week in New York presented stretched black sweaters, oversized jackets, worn over hooded, striped jeans, painted like a can, worn denim jackets, massive boots and much more. There are also torn things and models with a tai-dai print. Examples can be found at Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, John Elliott, R13 and others.
Huge pockets
Utility for several consecutive seasons trying to capture the world's catwalks. Huge pockets, detachable parts, secret compartments - all this should be in comfortable and versatile clothing, in which it is not terrible to go for a walk or to the mountains. But since many mods still live in the city, useful details are moved from sportswear to casual wear. Bulk pockets, for example, can be seen on jackets, trousers, skirts and, of course, jackets in the Adeam collections, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Eckhaus Latta, John Elliott, Palm Angels.
Strasses and chains in hair
Jewelry and large hairpins with rhinestones - a tribute to either the eightieth, or zero - appeared back last season. The past New York Fashion Week confirms: soon they will be absolutely everywhere. The most impressive show with an abundance of rhinestones turned out in the Area: multi-colored stones woven into the hair of the models as if it were a wig, not an ornament. On the show The Blonds one could see both caps from chains and an unusual manicure, in which long strips of rhinestones were used. But the real balaclava of crystals were in the final bows at the shows of Christian Cowan and Christian Siriano - the latter could be seen and the chain, woven into the hair of models.
