Russian basic clothes BStatement: T-shirts, hoodie and sweatpants

IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" we present young designers and tell them where and why to buy their things. Our heroes this week are Yura Tischenko and Alyona Veselova, the creators of the BStatement basic clothing brand.

Simple but pleasing to the body and well-tailored T-shirts, cozy sweatpants that are not ashamed to wear to work, thin vests with long sleeves - it would seem that every second brand has such basic things. But it is worth getting to the point, as the search turns into a problem. Uniqlo, American Apparel, Oh, My - the usual choice, but even their range is not enough for everyone who loves basic knitwear. And then there was another brand that should be included in this list, firstly, high-quality clothing, and secondly, Russian.

BStatement was founded by Yura Tishchenko and Alyona Veselova. Prior to that, Alyona had been engaged in purchasing designer clothes for a multi-brand store for five years, and Yura worked in the banking sector. The guys explain that, like many of their friends, at some point they were simply tired of choosing between quality and affordability: “Things from the mass market are becoming unusable after a couple of washes, and the design segment makes them overpay for the brand. We decided to create an alternative.”

Obviously, the problem really is: quality things are expensive. This is explained by a simple reason - a series of intermediaries in the chain from the creation of the collection to its appearance on the rails in the store. Distributors of the brand, a store that resells the things of designers, each of them increases the final cost with their mark-ups: "Multiply this by the growing euro rate and we get that one-color high-quality T-shirt of a more or less well-known brand costs now from three thousand rubles. From here BStatement has a basic principle - “Directly to you”. They do not cooperate with agents, retailers, thereby not shifting all allowances to the buyer. Everything that is produced for the brand can only be purchased from the guys directly.

Yura and Alyona are proud of the fact that they offer things whose analogues are more expensive than three times: "The important point: we do not strive to be the cheapest on the market and are not going to compete with the prices of the mass market. We are an alternative to things of the average level segment, and the quality is matched exactly according to this principle. And yes, there is a big difference between a cotton T-shirt for seven hundred rubles and three thousand, even if both have 100% cotton. "

BStatement supports the idea of ​​responsible consumption. The guys believe that you need to be content with quality, not quantity, and also find joy in the little things, be active and engage in self-development. The brand started with women's and men's T-shirts, but the range will only expand. The plans of Jura and Alyona offer high-quality shirts, tops and blouses made of silk, basic knitwear made of wool. Now the team of the brand consists of five people, including those who work with them remotely.

Probably one of the most difficult moments for a young brand is the search for reliable contractors who will be attentive to the requirements for quality and timing. We had a lot of meetings before we chose a collection owner. The main thing is the ability to hear each other and the mutual desire with a partner to make a quality product, constant discussion of what can be improved, optimized, making production schedules. This is what we have been doing and have been doing since launch.
