Léa Peckre: Transparent Things with Intricate Draperies
IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. Our heroine this week is Lea Pecr, the founder of the brand of the same name, which creates transparent sexy things, as well as complex, architectural forms.
Frenchwoman Lea Peccre graduated from the Belgian school of design La Cambre. During her studies she won several design competitions, and the graduation collection in 2011 brought Pecr the prize of the fashion festival in Hyères. His girlfriend received from the hands of Raf Simons. Leah trained in various fashion houses from Jean Paul Gaultier to Givenchy, until in 2013 she founded her own name brand. In a short time, she achieved success: established sales at Opening Ceremony and reached the final of the prestigious ANDAM Awards contest established by Pierre Berge. Pecr received a grant of 90 thousand euros and a year of mentoring, losing the victory to the street brand Pigalle.
The Léa Peckre collections are both dark and romantic. In them, Lea combines simple forms with complex, geometric and architectural. Coats, jackets, wide trousers, decorated with sophisticated draperies, side by side with her sophisticated transparent things: turtlenecks, skirts with frill, T-shirts, dresses on the figure. The designer makes extensive use of layering, cutouts and says that she is inspired by both the linen style and the nature of the north of France, the colonial and gothic architecture. Production Léa Peckre located in Belgium and in France.
Behind the 31-year-old designer are three successful collaborations: a special collection for the 130th anniversary of the French linen house Maison Lejaby, a collection of bags with geometric shapes from De Gris and sculptural decorations from De la Forge.
I love to work with transparent fabrics. They show the natural curves of the body and skin tone. In addition, thanks to them, the body becomes part of the clothing. I like to play multi-layered, somewhere completely exposing the figure, but somewhere only slightly opening up. Girls can wear my clothes in different ways, combining them with tops and beautiful underwear, thereby creating casual and elegant evening looks. I must say, the idea of combining unique memorable things with basic and comfortable ones is the basis of my brand. You can wear a skirt of a complex cut with a basic T-shirt and comfortable shoes - go to feast and to the world.
