We must be tolerant of things that we do not understand.
About work
First of all, I am a makeup artist. So far, perhaps, not a guru (in general, I believe that there is no ceiling in this matter), but also not a green newcomer: in the spring it will be four years since I professionally do makeup. This is not much, especially when compared with long-livers, but certainly not enough, if you remember how many trends, textures and events have passed through me. I also teach: I am happy to teach beginners, masters who have already taken place, and just enthusiasts who are interested in cosmetics. In addition, I am an assistant of Sam, an artist of an incredible level, even after four years every day working with him is happiness and honor. Last but not least (in terms of volume of work, and not in importance) I am a model, came to meykap precisely through this occupation.
About make-up
My make-up is important expression. When you work with models, it can be an expression of yourself as an artist, when with clients it is the revelation of a person’s character and inner world through an image. I do not like overwhelmed makeup: if this is not a scene and the task is not to “shout” to the viewer, I do not see beauty in excessive brightness. I try to make make-up as alive as possible, as if it was not the make-up artist who applied it, but the one who wears it. Often I use products and textures not in the way the manufacturer intended them: lipstick instead of blush, eyebrows instead of a sculptor, and so on.
In my make-up, I usually do not tear myself away, but invent concise images, which are often repeated. This is due partly to the lack of time, and partly to the fact that the makeup artist, in my opinion, still has to maintain a symbolic image. But I’m not the only one to choose yet - the perception of myself changes too often.
About hairstyle and absence of eyebrows
I first shaved my head more than five years ago. I wanted to drastically change the image, and I was pleasantly surprised by the reaction of others: I had a huge number of proposals for the shooting from photographers and makeup artists, and my own image became much more interesting. Time has also increased: I no longer spend hours on styling, haircuts, and more. Of the minuses - I have forgotten how to do hair in general, and working with the hairstyles of models for me is sheer torment.
I forgave my eyebrows easier: once I shaved them off for a shoot with Sam when he was doing a project for a new Illamasqua product. I immediately felt how comfortable I was - I had room for blending make-up, my eyebrows stopped dictating the direction of the pattern to me, and people stopped easily reading my intonations and mood. Many have noted that this is how I look more indifferent and calmer.
About care and well-being
I have dehydrated combination skin with enlarged pores in the area of the nose and chin, so I selected the appropriate care system. Now I do not get rid of the cleansing of the face "to the squeak" - this, to put it mildly, is not useful for the microbiome and worsens the situation with dehydration. I like to use soft scrubs and brushes, I love acid peels, I try to alternate the ways of cleansing and follow the reaction of the skin. It is imperative that I wash my face with plenty of water after washing, and I can apply funds in several layers, if I understand that one approach was not enough. I used to choose creams that were fatter, even for some time I was fond of oils, but then I realized that they were leaving a film - I switched to water-based serums and use more.
It seems to me that today the main rule of self-care is to monitor the information you consume. A healthy lifestyle is usually understood as running, meditation, dancing and yoga, but in fact a person becomes much happier when he stops consuming tons of information trash - he adds nervousness and insecurity both in his physical condition and in his future the future.
About appearance and tolerance
Sometimes I come across the rejection of my appearance by other people: for some reason, people around you often want to bring everyone under a common denominator, and the kind of person who gets out of the crowd makes them at least stupor, and more often - furious. Sometimes even close ones leave unpleasant comments, but, strangely enough, such a reaction even hardened me. It reminds me that we must be tolerant of things that are incomprehensible to us or do not correspond to our ideas about the structure of the world. And also about how important it is to have your own opinion and do exactly what you want and love.
