Makeup artist Julia Pantyukhina about attitudes to beauty and favorite cosmetics
For "Available"we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.
About the perception of beauty
In the fashion and beauty industry, it often happens that the steeper the professional, the more weightless his makeup and the more casual his style of dressing. Of course, there are wonderful freaks and self-taught. I adore those, and others, and third, for me the main thing is a cool solid image, individuality. Trends do not matter, I like real artists out of fashion. Well-groomed and style - I think this is beauty. By and large, for me it does not matter how a person looks, it matters what he is and what he does.
It was not always so, I must admit. As a child I spent a lot of time dreaming about the shape and appearance of Cindy Crawford. At the beginning of my career, when I was working in a beauty salon, it took another three years to understand how I was disgusted with beauty dressing. Every day I watched that a big check at the box office was not always about good and not always about beauty; for how the highest quality dye creates hair color, which makes the skin dimmer, as the best styling make inappropriate styling.
The more I immersed in the subtleties of rituals, technology, the study of beauty products and their compositions, the more clearly I understood that the most interesting thing for me was to create images. To study how to solve this or that artistic or stylistic problem, how to work most effectively with a specific face and hair. So I began to study art, style, began to do more creative beauty projects. In working with clients and in makeup lessons, she began to pay more attention to the rationalization of cosmetics and to the selection of what, in my opinion, goes and makes fresh.
About make-up
I am one of those makeup artists who prefer natural style in their own make-up. I would prefer to express boldness or intricacy in clothes rather than multicolor feathering of shadows or limes. I am very happy that the attitude to everyday make-up is changing. Between the podium images and options for life now lies not such an abyss as before, if you know how to adapt trends and treat yourself with irony. Every time I admire when I see on the street or at parties gold and black lips, colored arrows, cute and not very cute face art. My friends wear burgundy smocks, glitters that flicker like a disco ball, red mascara, draw moles like Geraldine Chaplin, and ask them to make colored eyebrows.
Experiments on yourself are limited to a home test before another beauty shooting - this is a kind of technical rehearsal. Most of the time I look like designers who work with avant-garde cut and rich colors, but at the same time they wear a black “bag” or uniform, such as jeans and a tank top. My make-up uniform consists of eight to ten products, and their application takes fifteen minutes. I do without brushes. Smooth skin is important to me: I use two shades of tonal means for simultaneous leveling and light sculpture. For the freshness of the face "from the inside" - highlighter plus pigment or fatty blush on the cheekbones, lips and eyelids at the same time. I do not control the shape of the eyebrows - they spike themselves freely, just underline them with a pencil and brush my hair. It is imperative to curl the eyelashes, it is important for me that the look be open.
The only art make-up that I want to walk now is large silver sparkles around the perimeter of the face, right and left. I will combine with a monochrome neutral make-up and with the same monochrome and simple clothes. In December, I will! And not necessarily to the party - during the day.
About hair
My colorist calls my hair glass wool and each time I give a treatment with Japanese Lebel after painting. I know that this is all from styling - powder and salt - and I am not particularly worried about the quality of the hair. I just love it when they feel harder to hold and hold volume. It is even better when they stand with a stake or stumble into separate strands from my two-day ignoring comb. Such an effect is often asked on the set. So they say: "Laying like you, please." If they knew how I create it. But you just have to wash and make the magic mask of Lebel - and you can again enjoy their integrity, I have enough for half a day.
About body and yoga
I love it when I have time to take a bath before applying and apply a body cream. It is nice to feel a supply of warmth and freshness when I sit in a taxi - for me this is a guarantee of good mood and strength for the day. Even better when the morning begins with yoga. Yoga is the only thing that keeps me regular. If earlier I was bothering about the size and appearance of my arms and waist, now it is more important for me to feel strength, flexibility and energy from the pumped and stretched muscles along the spine.
I don’t know whether it is adulthood, awareness, or I just succumbed to body-positive trends. But the fact is - I do not struggle with fat and do not plan to adjust the proportions of the figure. I do not go to yoga to pump parts of the body, as I used to go to another kind of fitness workout. I go to yoga, because now I can't imagine my life without it, for me it is like the hygiene of my body and brain. All other activities bring me more stress than good.
