Cheerful in spirit: Cosmetics with citrus scent
AUTHOR BLOG Fierce & Cute Moore Soboleva once a week makes for us a thematic selection of products from his extensive collection of cosmetics. In the new issue - cosmetics with orange, lime, mandarin and grapefruit flavors.
Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliant Cleanser Gel Cleanser
I wanted this orange gommage from greed - after reading a review from a friend of Nastya Lander, whom I very much trust in such matters. Gommage predictably did not disappoint - it smells of oranges with ginger and peels the skin gently (it can be used every day as a foam), but quite seriously. In general, I don’t really show abrasive cleaning, but this tool is so pleasant and delicate that I use it every couple of weeks - with a sense of forbidden pleasure.
Aroma Acqua Di Parma Arancia Di Capri
The Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line is a hymn to almost outrageous Italian relaxation. In a series of six smells, each belongs to some Italian province; all six are olfactory hymns to enchanting hedonism. Here and Arancia di Capri sweet, lazy, languid - in its blue-blue bottle caramel bitter-sweet oranges, heated by the local generous sun, hide. There are citrus smells for work, and there are for idleness: this is it.
June Jacobs Citrus Body Balm Body Balm
I really like the means for the body of the American spa-brand June Jacobs - they are so relaxed and luxurious that you feel like a girl from a tumblr-blog about interior design, barely opening a can. Most of all I love body balms - they have a wonderful unusual texture, soft, without oiliness, not a butter, but not a cream, but a balm. My favorite is papaya, but this one is also good: it smells like a mix of citrus juices.
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Flavor
I love the brand Jo Malone affectionately, but I can’t tame this fragrance, which is one of her main works. According to the pyramid, Lime Basil & Mandarin was created for me, but the way it opens up on my skin doesn’t suit me at all - an inappropriate sultry note breaks through the clean bitter cologne. Those on whom he sits beautifully (that is, most people) are lucky, while I am experimenting, mixing Lime Basil & Mandarin with other brand smells.
Greenland Lime-Vanilla Shower Gel
The fervent Greenland brand has three product lines in the assortment, but the brightest and most interesting are Fruit Emotions in cans and with deafeningly real flavors. The giant bottle of my shower gel with lime and vanilla is already half empty, despite the fact that we haven’t been so long together - this is clearly my favorite bath product of the season. Lime is invigorating, but not too harsh - apparently, due to unpleasant and soft vanilla. It seems that you wash your mojito - and it is nice.
Flavor Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
I have long liked the Atelier Cologne brand, but after an interview with its creator, I directly fell in love with this brand. Atelier Cologne makes aromas based on classic cologne (that is, based on citrus oils), but at the same time highly concentrated. It is clear that almost all the works of the brand are a benefit of citrus fruits, but the Orange Sanguine and Cédrat Enivrant, which recently appeared in my collection and works as my alarm clock all spring, fit into this collection the best. I do not know how they do it in Atelier Cologne, but these are real smells of happiness. Liquid volatile endorphins.
Body Cream L'Occitane Zesty Lime Ultra Soft Cream
I have already managed to sing in one of the previous releases of my Zesty Lime sibling - the same Ultra Soft Cream, but with the scent of a rose. Zesty Lime has an equally beautiful formula and, in general, a no less wonderful aroma - fresh lime or lemon zest. The cream should especially please those who prefer to use such things in the morning - the smell is bright and invigorating, you can do without perfume until the middle of the day and theoretically even without coffee.
Acca Kappa Green Mandarin Body Spray
I have long liked the Italian brand Acca Kappa, and especially its tangerine series with a clean, cheerful smell, but this spray is with me quite recently. In general, I do not like alcohol body sprays, but this was praised by friends from Cosmotheca, but I don’t need to be asked for a long time. Moisturizing properties are indicated on the bottle, but I would not replace the cream or butter with this agent - rather, it is an instant improver of the morning mood, especially on days when you do not feel like stifling it fully.
Shower gel The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit
I inhumanly, madly adore the smell of pink grapefruits (and about the same force I do not like to eat them). The first means of The Body Shop, which I bought when the brand came to Russia, was shower gel and body butter with this smell - and I still remember how much I was impressed by this degree of realistic aroma. Since then, both I and the cosmetics industry have made great strides forward, it’s not so easy to surprise me with a good odorous shower gel, but I have a particularly tender attitude to this series.
Demeter Tangerine Scent
In the gigantic library of Demeter fragrances, predictably many citrus fruits, I chose two of them: authentic Pink Grapefruit and Tangerine I suddenly liked. I do not have an associative connection between the New Year and the mandarins, but for those who have it, it makes sense to stock up on a bottle - Tangerine smells of crusts just ripped off from the mandarin. As a child, it seemed to me that this was the best scent in the world - I was rubbing crusts in my fingers, trying to use the resulting juice as a perfume. I think this bottle would make me the happiest child then - but now I am quite happy.
