Milan Fashion Week: Versace SS 2012 show
"Very Versace" is the perfect definition for the spring-summer collection that Donatella showed on Friday evening. At shows in London, yellow appeared quite often. In Milan, it originated on Wednesday, on Alberta Ferretti. Donatella also had it, but she reinterpreted it: she had it the color of the sun of Calabria, the southern region of Italy, where the Versace family comes from, and it was also the color of gold staves that adorned things, and, finally, the color of the beauty of blond girls sunbathing on the beach.
Billy Idol’s Hot In The City sounded on the catwalk - a very suitable track for showing Versace with his images of summer sex and long-legged girls. Past and present collided and combined in white leather dresses, tight skirts and sconces with gold rivets. Prints in the form of shells, seahorses, sirens and starfish on dresses, tops and jackets were combined with dizzying plastic platforms, which seem to have taken the place of the corporate head of Medusa Gorgon. The nautical theme manifested itself in long evening dresses of gray, yellow and turquoise colors, and in jewelry it turned into appliques of sparkling crystals.

The best designs were those where there were contrasts. For example, a dress divided into two parts, one of which was strict and sculptural (neoprene was mainly used for this), and the other - flowing and sensual, like a short Greek-style tunic: Gianni's passion for drapery and his love for Madame were felt here Gre.
