To whom to subscribe: Archival watercolors of fruits and berries

We continue to tell about decent accounts in social networks through which you can view the whole world.

The habit of classifying everything was instilled in us from childhood: surely everyone will remember with tenderness how they composed the herbarium or carefully redrawn the oak leaf to a lesson in natural history. Old Fruit Pictures Twitter has about the same feelings - it is both old-fashioned, pedantic and relevant in a world where people finally respect and appreciate the diversity of everything, whether it is the shape of human noses or apple varieties. And we are firmly convinced that by noticing one thing, we will learn to notice and love the other.

In fact, watercolors and drawings from the bottomless archives of the US Department of Agriculture, collected from 1886 to 1942, are laid out here several times a day. Apples alone (not always ideal) for this time, regular artists of the Ministry documented 3604 varieties (stop us from comparing with the diversity of the beauty of the female genital organs). You can, of course, call it a catalog of meaningless knowledge - but there is some special charm in studying the outlandish names of strawberry or grape varieties, as well as the names of the artists who have captured them.
