Healthy food: What to choose from Georgian, Russian and Japanese cuisine

In the previous article we talked about life hacking which will help you to eat regularly and tasty in restaurants, to do it consciously and not to overeat. Now we give recommendations on how to choose hearty and healthy dishes in the menu of different cuisines.

Chinese

There are as many as eight kinds of Chinese cuisine: Sichuan is the fattest and sharpest, Cantonese is easier, and in Shandong ("imperial") cereals and seafood are widely used. If you are a casual guest in a Chinese restaurant and do not know where the ingredients for meat and fish dishes come from, order baked tofu, dim cheese with light stuffing, salads with cucumber and celery.

Mexican

Feel free to choose ceviche, vegetable quesadilla, tacos with grilled fillings, and quinoa with anything. Guacamole is also a perfectly balanced dish: avocado is a valuable source of unsaturated fats. Instead of corn chips, it is better to order vegetables for this dip, and if you still want nachos, we advise you to prefer cooked on the grill, rather than deep-fried.

Japanese

Do not lean too much on sushi: mayonnaise, cheese (sometimes of dubious origin), fatty sauces are often added to rice, fish and seafood in most varieties; Instead of rolls, it is better to order sashimi that are honored by the Japanese themselves, as well as miso soup, salads based on glass funchoza noodles and interesting vegetable dishes.

Italian

In the Mediterranean cuisine, and in particular in Italian, a wide selection of vegetable snacks: broccoli slave, eggplant in a variety of variations, tomato dishes and much more. Fish is ideal as a main dish: Italians are kings in marinades and baking. Pasta should be fresh, that is made right in the restaurant. Instead of options with fat creamy sauces, it is better to use pasta with vegetables (for example, Primavera) or light options with seafood.

Indian

Finding light and healthy food on the menu of an Indian restaurant is not so simple: often even vegetables literally float in oil. Take plain rice and fresh vegetables as a side dish. If you are sure of the quality of fish and seafood in the restaurant, try fish curry with chili, coconut milk or mango.

Russian

In a rare kitchen you will find such expanse on portions, as in Russian: here you can eat buckwheat, wheat, and corn, you can eat plenty of porridge alone — nutritious and tasty. But with pies and pancakes you should not often feast on them - instead of them, choose light broths, baked game and vegetables in a traditional Russian restaurant.

Georgian

Do not deny yourself traditional pkhali snacks (they are different - from spinach to beetroot), goat cheese or lobio - a spicy bean snack. From the meat options, pay attention to something in the slow cook technique - a cooked lamb shoulder or chicken. In Georgian restaurants there is no shortage of fresh vegetables, as well as in good red wine - full-bodied and tart, like Kakhetian saperavi will suit most dishes.
