Designers continue to nostalgic for the 80th, but if a couple of seasons ago, this trend was observed in the abundance of shiny fabrics, dresses with shoulder pads and other references to the TV series "Dynasty", now the focus has shifted to "power women". Variations on the office style version 2.0 can be seen in Balenciaga, Vetements, Isabel Marant, Dries Van Noten: voluminous jackets, asymmetrical cut skirts and wrap skirts, pants, like a pair of sizes larger, belted with a belt. Designers understand that a well-tailored suit for the wardrobe of a modern woman is much more relevant than complex dresses. It seems to me that women's fashion as a whole is again heading for masculinity, and, perhaps for the first time in history, similar processes of blurring gender occur in men's fashion. In part, this is such a populist flirting with the theme of feminism, which sometimes looks rather one-sided - just look at the Dior or Céline collection.
As for the current silhouette, two directions still prevail here: either a narrow, tight top, slightly flared downwards (for example, like Paco Rabanne or Proenza Schouler), or an oversize, which is also gradually shifted downwards (talking about the combination of a turtleneck or T-shirt + wide trousers ", as, for example, in Lemaire). In any case, things that look like someone else’s shoulder are still in the spotlight.
It is curious that the length of the mini, which for some time existed as if out of fashionable context, is gaining momentum again: Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent suggest wearing elongated jackets with or without microshorts, Marc Jacobs - mini dresses, as well as Balenciaga. Forgive me, the hype combination of such length - of course, with boots with a very wide harmonica bootleg. In general, it seems to me that fashion is gradually moving away from sports and post-Soviet courtyard aesthetics in the direction of elegance or just plain old classics reinterpreted in a modern way.
If we talk about fabrics, I personally am very impressed with how designers rehabilitate velvet. For a long time, this material was considered as Starpery and somehow dusty. But this season many designers worked with him, and outside the context of the 70s fashion: the Balenciaga in the Pre-Fall collection has a cool bright green velvet trench coat, the Marc Jacobs, Lemaire and Prada have trouser suits, the Y / Project has a coat to the floor. But most of all I like the way velveteen is worn by mods in Tokyo: complete with Hawaiian-style shirts, woolen berets and worn "converse".
My favorite trend is red total onions, I already bought a few things of this color in the summer and want more. This fall there will be a cage everywhere - a print reminding me of a school or an English college. But this season, it looks not boring at all and not strictly - see examples at Chloé, Gucci, Stella McCartney. Polka dots are another trend print, and it seems to me that a thing with such a pattern can make any image bright and fun. This winter, although, I think, with our climate already in the middle of autumn, on the streets we will see not only multi-colored artificial fur coats, but also with the natural color of fur. Brown, black, red - such models are similar to vintage ones, there is a feeling that the designers were inspired by Parisian flea markets. You can belt your fur coat with a wide belt, for example, like in Rochas. Wide belts, by the way, are back in fashion - with large buckles, similar to corsets and tied with a knot.
I can not imagine autumn without the classic long beige coat, a universal thing for all times. Midi skirt is required - this length will be the most relevant. Choose the option of light fabric and complement the heavy sweater. Of the colors in the autumn wardrobe, red, chocolate and turquoise are obligatory - the latter, though not obvious, was very popular on the catwalk this time. My favorite turquoise thing is a leather coat from the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini show. Do not forget about knitwear: it's time to get all the turtlenecks, sweaters and cardigans.
I don’t know for sure yet that I’ll pick myself up for the fall, I’d have enough time to defy everything I bought for the summer. I'm really looking forward to the H & M Studio collection, there is a beautiful long gray coat and a burgundy leather miniskirt. And their collaboration with Erdem: leopard fur coat is my favorite. By the mood you want to buy bright things, daring miniskirts and unusual shoes - the dream, of course, boots in rhinestones, as in the Saint Laurent show.
The trends of the coming autumn are encouraging: comfortable and warm clothes are in fashion. One of my favorites - leather coats and jackets - showed almost all designers. They can be worn with anything: with leggings, dress, pantsuit, boots, sneakers. Coats of a free cut, both monophonic, and, for example, in a cage will also look good. As in the case of a leather coat, the options for combinations are numerous. For example, with a bright sweatshirt, high leather boots or a suit. I appreciate the practicality, so I want to highlight another trend - massive bags. Now with a bag-trunk you are not just a shuttle - you are a fashionable shuttle!
Autumn in Russia, as a rule, is pleasant only in September, then the story begins with rain, wind, and also “hello, snow!”. Therefore, a warm sweater will be indispensable. Beautiful examples were Balenciaga (monochromatic sweaters with high throats), the patterned versions are from Prada and Joseph, and J.W.Anderson and Off-White offer stretched sweaters. You can wear such a thing with anything, I personally like the options with something less voluminous, such as a silk dress or a skirt.
And now Grandma's fashionable advice. It is important to keep your head and hair, so I think that a headdress is an indispensable item for autumn-winter. This year there were many options on the catwalks: kerchiefs, like those of Balenciaga, fur hats (for example, Prada), but I like berets most of all. Céline was perfect, although both Dior and Prada showed them. As for color, this fall will be a lot of red. You can create a full-fledged total bow following the example of Jil Sander, or make a red accent - like a Balenciaga.
Many designers have offered silver and shiny textures. In everyday life, wearing such a color is better with something basic, for example, with jeans and a turtleneck, as in the Dries Van Noten show, with a gray coat, like in Proenza Schouler, with a jacket on the lock, like in Balenciaga, or a beige top, like in Off-White. From materials this autumn will be especially popular velvet, jeans, wool, silk, tweed, fur - in general, everything that you will not freeze.
The uniform is definitely one of the brightest trends of the upcoming season. Try on the images of the clerk, banker or bus driver, which showed the British designer Martine Rose, the staff of the stadium with the show Gosha Rubchinsky in Kaliningrad or even a baseball player performed by Ashish Gupta. Pay attention to the shining Ashish collection - this is the first full-fledged collaboration between a designer and the Major League Baseball. The things are the logos of real American teams "LA Dodgers", "Boston Red Sox" and "Chicago Cubs". The American designer Heron Preston also deeply immersed in the subject: he released a collection with the New York Sanitary Inspectorate (DNSY), based on the shape of his staff. Wear total bows or choose any item you like from the "shaped" collection - it's your business. Favorite t-shirt beautiful dress does not spoil.
Perhaps it is the cage that can be called the main print of the season - at least you should get such a shirt. Most likely the "one" you will find among the men's collections. See what options Vetements, Yeezy, J.W.Anderson, Off-White, Dries Van Noten and Helmut Lang have. Hypertrophied versions can be worn instead of a dress with high boots. If the soul asks for more cage, dress in a coat or suit - with pants or a skirt. Or just find the perfect jacket that you bring in for more than one season. Generally, jackets with hoodie - my favorite combination for every day, and with a catchy top and flares - a cool option for the evening. My favorites are Raf Simons from thick cotton of non-trivial purple color and at the same time aggressive and elegant version of Alyx with lacing.
In the fall, a roomy bag, a shopper or tote, in which everything fits, will become an indispensable accessory. Of all that the designers showed, the black Off-White bag with the catchy white inscription "SCULPTURE" stands out brightly. These will go on sale in several sizes, and their nice bonus is a long belt that can be slung over the shoulder.
It seems everyone managed to forget about the belts, and there will be a great many of them in the fall: from leather and canvas, long and short, with buckles of all possible forms. The longest, literally to the floor, leather - from Vetements, from canvas and with a catchy inscription - from Off-White, with an unusual buckle - from Alyx, and entirely from metal - from Delada. The latter is altogether similar to a necklace - a universal thing. If you are looking for a decoration-attachment, pay attention to mono-money. The most unusual I found in the Japanese brand Ambush - in the form of locks.
Well, what kind of autumn without a new pair of sneakers? Perhaps the most incredible model is in the Raf Simons and adidas Originals collaboration. Detroit Runner is reminiscent of a hybrid shoe and sneaker - a great example of a "daddy's" model, which will be especially fashionable.
