Stylist-hairdresser Elena Gritsay about work and favorite cosmetics
FOR THE FACE "HEAD"we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.
About personal care and cosmetics
I have a standard set: something for cleansing and moisturizing, using masks a couple of times a week. Usually, I don’t crawl, just mask the signs of inflammation, if any, and signs of fatigue. For the body, I really like to do algal and mud wraps in the cabin, after that the skin is moist and nourished - when you do a lot of sports, you need to take care of it especially. From home procedures I like homemade scrubs, from coffee and honey for example.
I listen to a cosmetologist and read analytical articles in magazines. When choosing hair products, I rely more on my opinion, and I also ask clients and find out if they really use cool things. I often buy little-known professional brands and pharmacies, I like Hitek stores: there are many interesting brands and low margins.
About sports and recreation
I do not do fitness, but extreme sports, because I need some kind of emotion from sports. I snowboard and waveboard, bike and roller skates. I have been swimming since June, because after a rib injury I couldn’t practice my usual sport, but I still had to bring myself into shape. Once a week I swim with a coach, this is very cool, because it allows me to master the right, useful technique. Now I'm still not doing anything else, so swimming is my main exercise.
I rest simply: periodically I go to the sauna after work or swim for about fifteen minutes in the pool - this is also a rest. After filming, I can just take cocoa, sit on a bench and watch the passers-by, that's enough for me. I also have a small outlet - knitting, I can sit at home with knitting needles for at least two hours in the evening.
About the work of the stylist-hairdresser
At school, I made braids to everyone and did not think about a career in this area - well, everyone in their childhood weaves braids to dolls and girlfriends, and nothing in this is extraordinary. I got into the sphere of beauty because I worked in PR from the first year. At the third I was offered to open an ordinary beauty salon in a residential area, it was interesting to me, and I agreed. Opened, then worked a little there, sometimes replaced the administrator and saw the work from the inside. Once the master was unable to finish the work, and there was no one in the cabin who would replace it. I had to. Colleagues then asked where I knew how to dye and style, and advised me to try myself as a hairdresser.
I didn’t take it seriously, but then I met the stylists from the cool salon, and they also wondered why I wouldn’t try. I decided to take a chance, went to the courses at Dessange, and somewhere in the middle of the courses, the teacher asked me why I was hiding that I had studied somewhere before. And I, naturally, did not study anywhere, it was just interesting and easy for me to work with hair. In general, I have been a hairdresser for six years.
Why exactly hair? When I thought about choosing a profession, I had three criteria. It is important for me to communicate with people, I like to work with my hands, and I wanted creative freedom. Well, hair is always a unique matter, which has its own shape, color, texture; Each person is special in this regard, and you can emphasize this.
