CONTINUE TO TELLabout decent accounts in social networks through which you can view the whole world.
Ethan James Green is a young photographer from New York and the hero of the Dazed 100 list. In the past, Ethan worked as a model (“I was considered strange in my hometown, I had to find my place”), and then, thanks to his work, he met the legendary photographer David Armstrong who became his teacher. In instagram, Ethan lays out his work — black and white portraits of young New Yorkers (he meets many of them on social networks), which shape the culture of the city and destroy traditional notions of gender and sexuality. Ethan shoots heroes as they see themselves - and as they want others to see them. Among the heroes of his photographs are Hari Nef, poetess, activist, actress and younger sister Lena Dunem Grace, actress Maya Taylor, known for her role in the transgender drama Mandarin, and many others. He also has commercial projects on his account - for example, he shot the campaign Miu Miu.
“I always wanted what I was doing was beneficial; I just didn’t know how and where to start,” says Ethan. “After I worked with David Armstrong, I fell in love with photos of his friends in 70 and 80. They continued to live in his pictures, and I so strongly wanted these people to continue walking through the streets of New York. Then I decided to stop taking pictures of models, made myself business cards and went to the streets in search of people who would carry the same spirit of originality. I was incredibly lucky: one of the first to whom I approached was Har and the nave. "
