Polish brand MISBHV: Hoody, leather coats and sweatpants

IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" we present young designers and tell them where and why to buy their things. Our heroes this week are Natalia Macheck and Thomas Virsky, the creators of the brand MISBHV, based in Warsaw.

Interest in designers who grew up in Eastern Europe or in the post-Soviet space is still growing and soon, apparently, will gradually decline. Now any mention of such an origin and its influence on creativity will certainly provide close attention from the fashionable public. It happened with the debutants of this New York fashion week - the Polish brand MISBHV, which is the quintessence of street fashion clothes.

At first, MISBHV focused mainly on men's clothing, which was produced four seasons in a row. They wore it, though (and this can be seen on street-style shooting from fashion weeks), both boys and girls. Huge hoodie, turtlenecks with the words "WARSAW", scarves, similar to those that are football fans, immediately won the hearts. Last but not least, this happened due to the relatively low price, which was due to the fact that all things are sewn in local factories. Creating collections, designers appeal, including to their youth and hobbies of various subcultures. Gothic fonts, chokers, tracksuits, leather leather jackets and vinyl coats - you can always find such a set on the brand, including right now, on the site.

In one of her interviews, Nataliya says that they were pushed to create their own brand by friends, skate and club community. She made with her partner Thomas a few T-shirts that instantly went around the familiar DJs, after which everyone began to demand more. Some of the things they developed were bought literally in minutes, which pushed start-up designers to move forward. So people without any education in the field of fashion created the most prominent brand in the country.

Now MISBHV are targeting global expansion. Thanks to the presentation at the New York Fashion Week about the brand as a noticeable newcomer, literally all the fashion press wrote. Their collection within the framework of the Week was devoted to 2000: designers say that they were inspired by the image of the most popular girl in school. From here - flirting with logos, cargo pants and rhinestones, a lot of rhinestones. It seems that there is no meaningful idea behind this design (unlike, by the way, from the same Vetements), but the strength of these guys is honesty. Nobody hides this fact from the creators of MISBHV.

Five years ago, street clothes were not perceived by the fashion establishment. Today, streetwear is Off-White and Vetements, which make the system change. Avant-garde and suite are no longer separate worlds, they merge and complement each other. By itself, the avant-garde is boring, the world of luxury is superficial. The most interesting thing happens when they meet together.
