"There is simply nowhere to hide": How I moved from a Caucasian village to Moscow

What is better - to live in a city or in a village? Everyone will find arguments in favor of both the first and second. One thing is known for sure: the inhabitants of megacities are sorely lacking in nature. Poor ecology, lack of fresh produce, constant fuss - all this affects our well-being, but this can and must be fought. Together with Weleda, we asked ecoblogger Leru Vetrova, who at 16 moved from the Caucasus to Moscow, about what she lacked in city life and how she learned to replenish it. Lera Vetrovaeko-bloggerOr childhood and movingOver childhood and moving, I grew up in a private house in conservation area near Pyatigorsk. We have a large garden, the windows offer views of the Beshtau mountain, and in clear weather you can see the whole Caucasus ridge and Elbrus. I spent all my childhood with my grandmother - I remember how we walked ducklings and ate baked potatoes from my vegetable garden. I moved to Moscow at 16 to go to university. After the move, I realized how important it is to spend time in nature. Now the best vacation for me is a trip to the mountains without the Internet and communication, in order to completely disconnect from affairs and concerns. There is no silence in Moscow, there is no place to hide and be with you - I think that’s why city dwellers are more exposed to stress. I really lack the dimension: the opportunity to hang for an hour under a cherry tree or walk barefoot on the grass, like a house. About foodOur foodWe have our own garden, so for all my childhood I ate strawberries straight from the garden and ripe apples. There was no shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables even in winter. In Moscow, I am deprived of this pleasure. At first, my parents sent me packages every week with local food and even water. The first winter in the capital was gastronomic stress, the vegetables had no taste or resembled foam plastic. Now I have adapted: in the winter I buy only cherry tomatoes and replace the cucumber with zucchini. Dried fruits, nuts, spices and herbal teas bring from home. Greens are grown on the windowsill. Onions, parsley, thyme and mint withstand the local climate and grow even with a small amount of light. Tea with its mint has a completely different taste. I put shungite in the water filter: it disinfects it, and it becomes tastier. Veganism taught me more attention to my diet and food quality. So I was able to clean the body without harm to it. Nutrition based on herbal products should also be balanced. Thanks to a competent approach to the diet, I managed to cure problem skin in due time. And yes, to be vegan, you do not have to eat spirulina, chia and goji berries. ”Tea with its mint tastes completely different. About lifestyle. About lifestyle. In Stavropol Krai there are 350 sunny days a year, in Moscow - about fifty. At home, I get a lot more vitamin D and I feel much better than in the capital, where even in summer there is constant twilight. At first, the winter with its short daylight hours led to despair. Now I have adapted: I go in for sports - I do strength exercises, I go to Ashtanga yoga, in the winter I drink melatonin. Also during the year I need to drink several courses of vitamin B12. In the Caucasus, something blooms all year round, the air is clean and as if sweet and warm. This is especially felt in the early summer, when acacias bloom - like no other scent. In Moscow, the air consists of cigarette smoke mixed with exhaust gases, it has a chemical, unnatural smell. In the apartment a humidifier saves from very dry air. I also have many plants: they are pleasing to the eye, soothe and improve air quality. ”In Moscow, the air consists of cigarette smoke mixed with exhaust gases. About self-care. About self-care When I moved to Moscow, my hair immediately became dull, the skin color changed, rashes appeared. If in the Caucasus I am a pink-cheeked girl with shiny hair, then in Moscow I look like I still haven't finished puberty. I try to use only ethical makeup. Every day in the morning I wash my face with gel, in the evening I make a mask: at the end of the day I want to clear my skin of the city as it should. For hair and scalp I use sea salt scrub. After it, I rinse my head with sage or chamomile extract - my hair becomes smooth and shiny. ”It is important to find what suits your skin. I consider scrubs to be an important part of body care: I choose those that not only peel off, but also moisturize the skin at the same time. After a shower I always use organic oil, and when I don’t want a rich texture, lotion. In winter, I try not to forget about the massage with a dry brush, it “drives” blood and has a peeling effect, making the skin elastic. I mix homemade masks on weekends if I have time and mood. And yet I prefer pharmacy cosmetics: ready-made products are faster and more convenient. In addition, in the laboratory it is easier to derive a safe and effective formula than in your bathroom. The same natural ingredients, but in the hands of experts can give much better results. At the same time, it is important to find what suits your skin exactly. It seems to me that Moscow is not hopeless for the metropolis: there are many parks and green areas. I live in South Butovo, near Bitsevsky Forest, Butovo Parks and Lakes - I try to walk there every day, breathe fresh air. I also really like Sokolniki, Borisov ponds, Kolomenskoye, Tsaritsyno. I usually take a yoga mat with me, try to do a couple of relaxing asanas, or at least lie on it, feed the ducks, sunbathe. It is possible to be closer to nature and lead a healthy lifestyle in the megalopolis - now there are all conditions for this.3 steps To cleanse the body from the outside and from the inside Anti-cellulite birch oil In combination with a regular massage, the oil helps to improve microcirculation and metabolic processes in the subcutaneous fat tissue.
