The interior of the Japanese store Maruhiro dishes
Every day in the world appear beautiful or impossibly beautiful things, and you can look at some of them endlessly. Or at least a couple of minutes - to unload the brain, escape from the routine and let your eyes rest. We offer to meditate on the updated interior of the flagship store Maruhiro - the leading Japanese ceramics manufacturer Hasami, whose manufacturing traditions go back to the 17th century. The Tokyo studio Yusuke Seki undertook to rethink the space.
Designers collected 25 thousand defective dishes from the surrounding factories, which otherwise would have been sent to a landfill, and painstakingly laid a pedestal in the store, strengthening each cup with cement. At the same time, a minimalist and multi-figured installation both pays tribute to the local tradition and supports a modern, waste-free production.
