Fast food: 7 basic culinary lifehacks

Modern citizens seriously took up cooking: now and then video recipes of fast and tasty dishes are flashed in social networks, dinner parties are slowly squeezing restaurant trips, and at street food festivals master classes by famous chefs take place. Nevertheless, it still seems to many that cooking a dish more difficult than scrambled eggs requires some secret knowledge and a lot of free time, and for the uninitiated this is a headache. A little life hacking, equally useful for beginners and advanced chefs, will help ease your lot in the kitchen.

Bring back freshness and crisp bread

Moisten the bread with cold water and send to the oven, preheated to 230 degrees, for 5-7 minutes.

Quickly soften the butter

Pour into a glass of hot water, after 1 minute, pour it and cover with a glass of oil for 2 minutes.

Check the degree of roast steak

When it is impossible to detect the cooking time of steaks and there is no cooking thermometer at hand, the method of "Okay" will have to be by the way. Relax your hand and connect your thumb and forefinger without squeezing them. Touch the base of the thumb on the palm - the texture will correspond to a weak burn (medium rare). Connect the big and middle fingers, and then check the steak - something like that to the touch should be the meat of medium rare (medium). Do the same with your thumb and little finger to test the readiness of a well-done steak (well done).

Peel the tomatoes

Make a small cross-shaped incision on the skin without cutting into the flesh. Dip a tomato in boiling water for 10-15 seconds, and then in cold water for 1 minute. Now peel off easily.

Remove bones from fish

Cut the base of the head with one hand. Take a knife along the spine to cut the fillets from the bone. Hold the knife perpendicular to the spine and lift the meat from the abdomen so as not to pierce it. Do the same with the second half of the fish. Remove the small bones with tweezers and separate the ribs with smooth knife cuts.

Wash leeks

Cut off the roots and remove the top layer of the bulb. At 5 cm from the base of the bulb, make two longitudinal cuts - so you divide the stem into four parts. Now you can rid the leek of sand, earth and dust in numerous layers, rinsing it with water.

Quick peeled boiled potatoes

Before boiling the potatoes in a uniform, make a circular incision on the skin, outlining an imaginary equator on the tuber. Ready potatoes will be easy to peel: just pull off the softened skin.
