Personal stories - diaries, letters, first person stories - this is the easiest way to look at historical events from a new angle. This can be done, for example, with the help of the “Living” project - an electronic library of personal diaries written by a variety of people - including well-known writers (for example, Yevgeny Schwarz or Alexander Blok). The site is intended primarily for researchers working with historical sources - but nothing prevents you from reading diaries just for your own pleasure. Thanks to the advanced search, you can study records for a certain period of time, search by keywords or tags: for example, the name of the city where the author lived, or other important features - for example, if the diary was written on the front or created by a child.

The project has existed since 2015, and the diary database is constantly updated - the organizers are planning to add materials in different languages (so far only Russian and Ukrainian can be found on the site) and different periods, and not only be limited to diaries, for example, adding correspondence and notebooks .
