Historical moment: two queens met in fashion week

The last season of London Fashion Week has become truly historic: in the first row of Richard Quinn's show, Elizabeth II and Editor-in-Chief of the American Vogue (and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire) Anna Wintour met. Her Majesty became a guest of London Fashion Week for the first time in 66 years of rule - she came to present a twenty-seven-year-old Quinn a prize for the development of British design. "This is just fantastic. I could not believe my eyes when I saw a small blue pad in the front row before the show started. The Queen is an icon of style. She was the first woman in the royal family to wear pants," said Quinn to BBC. For the show, Elizabeth II chose a soft blue Angela Kelly suit, as well as laconic black boats and gloves.
