Vaykserfer Evgeniya Mirskova about the strength of spirit and enlightenment
Sport has long been an integral part of our lives.even if at times his presence boils down to awkward attempts to introduce short workouts at home on a dusty yoga mat, or even wear leggings and comfortable workouts. That is why we have prepared a series of interviews with girls who are addicted to or professionally engaged in extreme sports: someone will inspire their examples to sign up for regular classes in the gym, others will be encouraged to ride their first wave somewhere on the African coast. All our heroines ride on different types of boards - from skateboard to surf - and do not think their lives without sports.
I got into surfing by chance almost six years ago. A friend came up with the idea that we should go to Bali and try surfing. Then it seemed that this sport is not for mere mortals. But, as it turned out, a little patience, a positive attitude - and everything will turn out. Since then I have been trying to go to the ocean every six months. I started surfing because I missed the waves in Moscow very much and I have already achieved quite good results. This is a young sport in Russia, there are few competitions, and I don’t often participate in them. This summer, she took second place in the Amateur Skim Women category at the Kalinka Wakesurf Cup Russia world championship in wake surfing in Moscow at the Russian Open Wakesurf Cup in St. Petersburg.
In wakesurfing there is no competition for the wave: you ride as much as you have the strength and resources, and the one who rides better always prompts the beginner with pleasure. Wake is generally a very friendly environment, and the boat is very fun to ride a big company: do some trick - everyone shouts, supports. It is always nice when others are happy with progress. On the ocean, the situation is different, there are spots where it is difficult for beginners to ride because of local and more experienced surfers - they take all the waves first.
Extreme sport gives you a whole range of emotions, especially on the ocean, when you are alone with the elements: all problems and bad thoughts go away, the world becomes pure and beautiful. There is an awareness that everything will be fine. Of course, extreme sports bring strength and courage. On a trip to the Philippines, we drove to the surf spot in a motorboat, hit the thunderhead and the boat overturned. While we were waiting for help for several hours, none of the guys and girls panicked or nervous. All worthy of the test. People who are involved in extreme sports, others, communication with them is amazing. I recently heard the phrase that the surfer is seen in the crowd by the open clean look. I am very glad that I can look at the world with such eyes and that I myself can often look into such eyes.
The percentage of girls in the total number of extremes, of course, is less. At the same time they treat us in extreme sports well. A woman who is able to challenge the elements on a par with men is always a matter of respect. It seems to me that by nature, the instinct of self-preservation is stronger, therefore, in sports, we are more careful than guys. On the other hand, there are many girls who do very cool stunts - all the guys are jealous.
I often have terrible bruises, less often abrasions. During my first visit to Bali, I so unsuccessfully ran into my board that two stitches were put on my face. But there have never been any changes - after all, the water is softer than snow or asphalt. Especially my mom worries about me. We have a persuasion with her: when traveling, do not take risks and get in touch every day. Otherwise, she will begin to prepare the rescue operation.
