Andrea Pompilio, menswear designer

Under the heading "Fresh blood" we present young professionals who have not yet become familiar in the pages of magazines, but will certainly have time to do it in the near future. Our hero today - Andrea Pompilio, the designer of men's clothing, shows suits in a cage and stripes on the Pitti Uomo and offers to wear them even to women.

Andrea was born in a creative Italian family. His father is an architect, and his mother is an artist. He soon realized that he wanted to become a designer, and began to move in this direction. “When I was very young, my grandmother had a few boutiques in Pesaro, and I spent most of my time in them, playing among clothes and fabrics with my sisters. I liked it, and at eight I already knew that I wanted to become a designer clothes, "says Andrea.

Pompilio first graduated from the Pesaro School of Art, and then received a master’s degree from Istituto Marangoni. Before launching his own brand of clothing, he worked for thirteen years at famous fashion houses: Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Prada, Calvin Klein and Saint Laurent. In January 2010, the designer launched a personal brand of men's clothing.

His latest collection, which the designer showed at the Florentine exhibition of men's clothing Pitti Uomo, were presented by both male and female models. In it - checkered suits, pinned cardigans and jackets, caps, clutches and socks with Lurex. The main color palette was pink, brick, burgundy, yellow and emerald green, and prints - cell, stripe and pea. Pompilio explained his choice of models after the show: "Women are so often interested in the small sizes of my clothes, so why not otshit them?" Perhaps this is a prerequisite for creating a women's clothing line, or it simply supports the androgynous trends of designers, such as J.W. Andreson.

This year, Andrea Pompilio is forty years old. To date, he has released five collections: three autumn-winter and two spring-summer. The designer plans to continue to create only men's clothing, although the slogan of his latest collection is "Take something for men and make it more elegant for women."
