Photographer Olesya Asanova about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week our heroine is the photographer Olesya Asanova.

About six years ago, when I moved to live in London, I noticed that I dress quite boringly in comparison with people around me: students of a fashion college, various creative people and representatives of subcultures. It seems to me that the appearance of a strong influence on the choice of clothes, so gradually I began to change my wardrobe. At first, she stopped wearing sheath dresses, shoe boots and women's bags, then completely switched to things from the men's section. In general, the concepts of masculinity and femininity in clothes for me were mixed, and the boundaries were erased. Now, with my boyfriend Edik, we carry many things by turns - besides, it turned out that this is a way to save money. I am a photographer and dress up on the stereotypical scene: hoodie, jeans, sneakers. But it doesn’t seem to me that it was work that influenced my style. This is rather a general trend of fashion - all a few years ago, they were mad at the combo "sneakers and hoodie".

Everyone sets priorities, and I'm not ready to spend money on clothes. Sometimes I like the thing very much, but without disappointment, I can not take it or return it to the store after the purchase. It seems that with age I became wiser in this regard. For example, I invest in photography, travel and a dentist, and most of the items in my wardrobe were less than ten thousand rubles. I can always buy something in outlets, second-hand, on sales. But the most expensive things for me are those that I find in my grandmother's bins or I receive as a gift from design friends.

I do not like clutter in the closet. When I buy a new one, I try to free up a place and send the old one either to the dacha or to charity. My mom taught me this from my childhood, we took our bags to the orphanages. There was almost no clothes left from living in London, because when I moved I carried out the main part of the donation tank. I don't have many things, but they all fit together well; at the same time, how well I chose the outfit in the morning usually affects the sensations during the day.

Two features coexist in me: I am a germophobe and I love it when everything is sterile at home, but at the same time I rummage in second-hand absolutely without disgust. I like to buy things online and in vintage stores, but I've been avoiding shopping in shopping centers lately, it usually takes a lot of time. In addition, I am worried about the influence of the mass market on the ecology and how it all gets to the buyers.

Vintage denim, DKNY x Opening Ceremony turtleneck, Levi's jeans, Puma waist bag, Nike sneakers

I bought this denim in Beacon's Closet, the best vintage store in New York - she has a flat shoulder in the style of the 80s and the inscription "Nasty" in the style of NASA logo. Someone made a drawing by hand, and because of him in Russia I am often called Nastya. I often wonder what kind of person I customized and wore this jacket before? What year was it and how did it look? I never know, and that's why it's even more interesting.

Levi's jeans are one of those things that we moved from our Edik wardrobe to our overall. They are too big in a belt, but I still like the way they sit.

Kangol jacket, H & M T-shirt, trousers and string bag - Uniqlo, Reebok sneakers

I try not to buy things in the mass market, mainly for ethical reasons. However, I liked this t-shirt from H & M like the emblem of the project "Non Violence" in the form of a pistol with a tied barrel. I read on the site of the brand that the percentage of sales of such things goes to donations to the organization.

Bag-bag from Uniqlo from a distance resembles a plastic bag. Mostly my bags are either waist or over the shoulder, but this one is an exception; keep in case you need to take something big with you. A big plus - at any time it can be rolled up and put into a pocket. I like the color to fit the details on Reebok InstaPump sneakers, so I often wear them together. The coloring of these "pamps" was rare - have never seen the same.

The North Face Jacket, Ziq & Yoni Hoodie, Levi's Jeans, Dr. Boots Martens, Supreme bag

This bow is practically my uniform. Especially often I dress like this for shooting - these things are very comfortable and do not distract me. Hoodie gave Ziq & Yoni after we took out a bowbook for them. I’m wearing it almost a year without taking it off - I’m more comfortable looking at it until I find it.

Over the past two years, The North Face has been knocking it almost to the holes - it is very light and very warm. Like almost all of her stuff, she grabbed it off at a sale. Levi's jeans are my favorite, bought at Macy's for eighteen dollars. Later they began to cost even less, because they turned out to be unnecessary, and I took two pairs. They are very similar to the collaboration with Vetements.

The Kooples dress, Fenty x Puma boots

I bought this dress at The Kooples for the prom in London and often wear it for various events - I already had a couple of weddings in it. Top and bottom are connected by metal rings, so if you wish, the dress can be turned into a top and a skirt. Also, these rings fit my piercer in the ear. Boots are a gift from Puma, they blend perfectly with the dress. I do not think that the event can not come in the shoes.

T-shirt from the second, pants Uniqlo, boots Dr. Martens, Ziq & Yoni Waist Bag

Mike from second-hand. Like the fact that very much reminded tops from childhood. For some reason, there are two pockets on my back - I haven’t found any use for it yet. I wanted light pants with a plastic buckle and small pockets that looked like cargo, and accidentally saw them in Uniqlo. A strange feeling when you find a thing that meets absolutely all the requirements.

Dr. Boots Martens bought in an outlet in New Jersey. The seller said that they are very rare. Almost none of my acquaintances understands what kind of brand this is, given that brand models are usually very recognizable. Edik has been helping me on set for a year and a half, and this bag - a gift from Ziq & Yoni - is always on it. Everything in it is as convenient as possible: there is a large department for storing lenses, a wide belt and two small pockets for a new and already captured film.

Kangol jacket, fleece "Sputnik1985", secondhand shorts, boots Fenty x Puma

The guys from "Sputnik1985" gave me a fliska, for which I shot a lookbook on a large frozen lake. I love her for the fact that she is not only pleasant to the touch, but also evokes pleasant memories: although they were filmed in a hard frost, the whole team was pleased. I often put it on - both at the cottage and at the exit. The weather in Moscow and in London changes very often, so the combination of shorts and shoes does not bother me.

Hoodie Elena Gatsenko, Oysho shorts, Nike sneakers, Fila socks

Hoodie-body sewed Lena Gatsenko - it is of great interest to everyone. Nike sneakers are my favorite, bought them at a sports store in New York. It would seem that ordinary sneakers, but something in them definitely is - I was even stopped to find out where to get the same.

Second sleeve jacket, boyfriend shirt, Ellesse tights, Puma waist bag, Fila socks, Nike sneakers

In London, I led a healthier and more active lifestyle, and these ellesse tights have remained since that time. I cut them when I decided to go for bikram, hot yoga. Of course, it didn’t become cooler, but I like it even more.

Kofta found in “Zigzag of Luck” when she decided to shoot the younger brother and put it on second-hand stuff. Some carry with him until now. I don’t have my classic shirts, I never worked in the office. There was no need to buy either, because I always wear native men's shirts: fathers, grandfathers and Edik.

Uniqlo jacket, adidas sweat pants, Eastpack waist bag, Fenty x Puma boots

When I found this jacket in the men's section of Uniqlo, I immediately realized that I needed to take size XL, take off the fur and wear it with a waist bag. Passed like this all winter. This is my warmest jacket, very cool. At the same time, I often catch sideways views - the most frequent thing I heard: "My mother looked like this in the 90s when she worked in the market." My dad, by the way, too. What is missing is a mink hat in the shape of a bucket.

Snow in Moscow can go in the summer, so these shoes Fenty x Puma plan to wear year-round. For me, everything is perfect in them: the sole, the color, the details.

Perfumes Comme des Garçons Black Pepper, Demeter Cannabis Flower

For almost half a year my favorite perfume is Comme des Garçons Black Pepper. I do not feel them at all during the day on myself, and this is even a little sad. Although it seems to mean that the fragrance suits me. Sometimes I use Demeter Cannabis Flower perfume. An interesting smell.

Telfar bag

Man, for some reason everyone is surprised.

Raf Simons hat

I bought a cap Raf Simons on Ssense and I have been carrying it for two years. The caps do not go to me, but this one somehow successfully came up - despite the fact that I ordered it online.

Sneakers Reebok, Nike, Y3

I love sneakers. This is not all that I have, but one of my favorites.

Grandma's Sandals and Chloé

On the left are my shoes (grandmother in Kalmyk). In her youth, her uncle and aunt brought things from Germany and she was the most fashionable in the city. Since then, little has survived. I really love these shoes and I am glad that we have one size. On the right are the Chloé mules, in which I was at the graduation party.

Earring

I bought these earrings specifically to separate them: one for me and one for a friend. I was looking for a long minimalist earring to look like a thread, and found it in Tsvetnoy. When I hide a pearl behind my ear, it resembles a thread. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the designer.

Casio watch, JBL column

I love Casio watches for waterproof, durable, vintage style and affordability. I already have five, but these are the bright orange ones that raise my spirits. The JBL speaker has a high-quality loud sound - and it also attaches to the belt.

Headphones Hood By Air

These headphones Hood By Air ordered to London from America, when she was shooting a graduation project with a girl with a hearing impairment as the heroine - she explores the sounds through clothes. Her perception of sound is different from the perception of hearing in that she feels it physically. So the headphones with a zipper seemed to me very interesting, because they combined clothes and sound.
