About care

My skin has never been reactive or sensitive, so I don’t do anything supernatural: I cleanse, tone and moisturize, sometimes I use masks and go to a beautician. The main thing for me is protection from the sun (I easily burn), a balanced diet and healthy sleep, which, unfortunately, is often not enough.

Fatigue and strong feelings strongly affect my appearance. I realized this early: in high school, suddenly hair began to fall out - as a teenager I couldn’t believe in the danger of stress, but I realized in time that it was not a hoax, so I try to monitor the level of tension. Mom always looked immaculately, without putting much effort, so I had to learn how to take care of myself. This habit still helps: I don’t feel sorry for the time to, say, make a moisturizing hair mask, because I understand that this is important to me. The same with salon manicure is one and a half hours of me time, which is needed not only to have blue nails, but also for recovery and rest.

About make-up and blogs

I like to be beautiful, I like to experiment with colors and textures. This is probably trite, but makeup is one of the simplest means of expression. In addition, I studied at an art school and always dreamed of a creative profession. I was lucky that the dream came true, but the tasks for the current work have nothing to do with canvases, paints and palettes. I make up for the lack of handmade work and drawing when I make myself some smokes with glitter for myself, my mom or friends.

In adolescence, I discovered YouTube and then for several years I only watched meykap tutorials. In the late 2000s, the beauty blogging industry was in its infancy, NikkieTutorials was a little schoolgirl recording video from home, and all this has not yet taken on such a huge scale as it is now. In addition, I loved the beauty forums very much - I remember how I looked at the swatches of lipsticks and shades of MAC for hours, endless Face of the day and Eyes of the day. Thanks to this, for some reason I learned, let's say, the difference between MAC Russian Red and MAC Ruby Woo red lipsticks, and I also brought up English perfectly: with videos and forums it is easy to remember the names of parts of a face and dozens of conversational expressions. Now I also watch the instructions, but mostly to relax: videos about the make-up of drag queens, the James Saint-James show "Transformations" or Lisa Eldridge's video tutorials entertain and let you get distracted better than any TV series.

About yoga and well-being

For four years now I have been practicing yoga regularly, and this is one of the best habits. Before her, with one type of activity did not go well: in the gym it was too boring, in jazz modern, I seriously damaged ligaments on my leg, and so on. When I started to go to yoga, I was amazed that the teacher did not focus on the result, but on the process.

Do not compare yourself with anyone and listen to your feelings - it seems that this is the most obvious thing in the world, but when you really stop looking at the next rugs or think how to pump up your hands for the summer, then the meaning of all the inspiring quotes suddenly becomes much clearer. It becomes easier to breathe and prioritize not only in the classroom, but also in life: for example, to separate your desires from those that are imposed by the “self-care” industry, which promotes the same yoga. More classes have taught me to be grateful to my body and feel comfortable in it: even if it is far from the standards of conventional beauty, I am happy that it is so strong and brings so much joy.

All these discoveries do not mean that I have reached the ideal and now I always feel good and look gorgeous: I regularly fall asleep, get nervous, overeat and get angry. The main thing that happened to me lately (thanks to yoga and my psychologist for this) is that I stopped scolding myself and punishing for failures and just trying to move on and select the appropriate load. Sometimes I run, in a company or alone when I want to learn a new place. Jogging while traveling is generally the best way to recover when you adapt to a new city. If I get tired and understand that I cannot train, then I sign up for a session in the sensory deprivation chamber - it helps to take a break from the constant flow of information and start from scratch.
